Princess and Cowboy Reunited

"Funny seeing you here, princess," said a thick Southern accent.

Princess? It all hit me at once. Cole Cassidy was here at Jack Morrison's birthday party. Since when did cowboy and 76 get along? I could've sworn everyone hated Cassidy.

I hadn't seen him in a long while. He looked...different. He lost a couple pounds and put on some muscle, combined with growing his hair out. It suited him well, he almost looked good for being a goody two shoes.

"Why are you here?" I asked, not very excited to see him.

"Why wouldn't I be?"

"Nobody likes you Cassidy. Quit answering my questions with questions," my voice reeked with hostility.

"You always have to be so mean to me,"

I glared at him, hatred going straight from my eyes to his. We held eye contact for what felt like an eternity. It was almost making me feel some type of way, until I remembered who I was looking at. Bastard. After a while of tense eye contact, he smirked at me. He extended his hand to mine, signaling me to go to the bar with him. At first I rejected, but he persisted. Why not, this could be fun?

Cassidy pulled out a chair for me and told me to sit, followed by him winking at me. I rolled my eyes in disgust, who does he think he is? Nonetheless, I took my seat. I was excited to get alcohol in my system, it'd been a while. Cassidy ordered us both beers, and cheered for "new beginnings". My ass... I'm not sure what his intentions were tonight, but maybe this was an adventure I needed. A quick whirl of wind rushed past my right ear, and a tiny brunette stared at me.

"Hey Ashe, you look great tonight!" Tracer paused and looked to her right, her eyes widened when she saw I was next to Cassidy.

"....Cassidy,"

With that, she sped away. I couldn't help but laugh at the interaction, Cassidy was really  loved here! He got mad at me for laughing at him, but it was genuinely hilarious. Brows furrowed, he told me that it was not that funny. After some time I stopped, but seeing him all worked up made my night. I can't lie, I missed this. I looked in his eyes for a moment, reminiscing on how things used to be before we got on bad terms. I'm not sure if it was the alcohol in my system, but he looked really good tonight. Cassidy stared back at me in confusion, and I bit my lip a little.

"Are you checking me out?" said Cassidy, grinning.

"You're so cocky, n-"

"You've practically been eyeing me since I first spoke to you tonight. What's up with you?"

I couldn't even think of a witty comeback to that. Shit, he was right. I tried not to look him in the eye after he said that since I had no idea what to say. I turned my body towards the bar and away from him, taking a big gulp of my beer. After I swallowed, a hand grasped my chin and moved my face towards Cassidy. He brought my face closer to his and smirked. To be completely honest, that made my heart flutter. I smirked back at him, trying to not show that I was practically melting under his touch. He took his hand off my face and looked around for a moment, scanning the room. Afterwards, he grabbed my face again and stared into my eyes deeply. My heart was pounding.

"Kiss me," I whispered to him, just to see if he was listening.

He was listening, loud and clear. Without hesitation, he pulled my face in. My lips were met with his as he kissed me softly. All of me was screaming, but in a good way. We kissed for a good minute, no tongue. It's like he was giving me a preview of what he could do. He pulled away and let out a chuckle. Cassidy's confidence was so attractive, especially in this moment. I was thinking unspeakable things.

"Did you like that?" he whispered, teasing me in a way. He had no idea what he was doing to me.

"Maybe we should take this somewhere else," I whispered back, feeling bold.

Cassidy raised his eyebrows in shock and scoffed. However, he didn't disagree and got up from his chair. I got up from mine too as he took my arm and led me away from the party. We went to his car and he drove us to his place. Thankfully, I already wished Soldier a happy birthday.
