(A/N: This is my first fic so it's not going to be perfect)
Nobodys POV:
..."WHAT".
Paintbrush had stood up from their chair, visibly annoyed. TeaKettle just stared at them. Sighing, she gestured for Paintbrush to sit back down. They have always been known to rash out a little but TeaKettle thought this was getting out of hand.
She cleared her throat, continuing her previous statement."Like I said before, I'd have TestTube do it but poor girl's already busy enough."
"Busy!?, as if I'm free."
Sarcasm laced their voice. They sighed, taking a few deep breaths. They needed to stop this, they were not planning on getting fired today. Especially not with rent right around the corner. "Look, I'd love to help but it's mostly me running the counter, and I'm really not sure if I'd have the time to do it." They fidgeted with their hands, hoping to get across that they truly had no interest in this. TeaKettle rethought her decision, fixing her posture. "The plan stays the same, however I'll pay you overtime, how does that sound as a compromise?"
Paintbrush walked out of the office, they could already feel a headache brewing as they looked to see if their colleagues had burned the place down yet.
Fan worked the counter, scribbling down on a notepad while TestTube seemed to be smacking the only coffee machine they had. Paintbrush was less than thrilled, and for good reason. There were plenty of employees, sure they were the only one who properly ran the counter while Fan posted on his blog and TestTube, who was supposed to be supervising them, had been working on the drinks. But it was an honest routine. Plus the size of the cafe wasn't exactly ideal for another person to be running around.
They yanked the notepad out of fan's trembling hands, walking up to the cash register. Paintbrush stared at the writing, usually they're able to decipher it but this wasn't even proper english. What the hell is- 'cOfgeba'? They weren't in the mood for this.
"Ah, sorry Ma'am, what was it you ordered?"
Putting on a smile they flipped to the next page. The woman in question didn't seem to be having a good day either, her eyes gave an annoyed look over the top of her black and pink, probably designer, sunglasses.
"Look darling, I don't have all day. I spent enough time trying to explain my order to that 'red' friend of yours." She scoffed, crossing her arms.
Paintbrush could already feel blood rushing to their head as their grip on the notepad became tighter,
"I don't have all day to wait on you either, so you either order or leave."
"Fine, just give me an iced latte then". The lady fumbled over her words, pulling out her phone.
"Perfect! I'll have that right out for you!" Paintbrush's voice turned back into one of sickening joy as they got to work on the drink.
...
Paintbrush was unfortunately on cleaning duty. To help speed the process up both TestTube and Fan stayed after hours to help. And get the gossip about what happened. Of course they didn't outright say that. It was mostly Fan who wanted to know anyway.
At Least the background music had died down. God that gives Paintbrush a headache. Even after multiple complaints, TeaKettle refuses to change it. Says it, 'Sets the mood.' Apparently it attracts more customers. All bullshit. Paintbrush noticed their sweeping had become quicker and more aggressive. They had been working on their anger recently too, or trying. "So..." Paintbrush snapped out of their thoughts at the sudden voice.
