THE PARTY AT TOWN HALL was a dazzling spectacle of colors, lights, and music—a chaotic frenzy that made it the worst place imaginable for finding your parents. Jasper chastised herself for not thinking of the idea first. At least Max kept his promise. "Ah, great. How are we ever gonna find Mom and Dad in this place?" Max scoffed while they walk quickly towards the party.
The Fright-Night Festival was the annual gathering for adults 20 and over, held in the town square, where the music was deafening and the festivities relentless. Dani looked to a nearby group of kids waiting for their parents outside. She sighed, wishing it was here who was gobbling candy down till she got sick. Dani continued watching the children now dance to the music that was playing from the inside. Jasper looked down at Dani longingly staring at the children. The blonde sighed, taking Dani by the hand and parted through the greeters, running up the stairs with Binx and Max behind.

"I'm gonna look for mom." Dani shouted over the blaring music, her voice cutting through the chaos. Max and Jasper stuck together, scanning the large ballroom. Max looked left while Jasper looked right. Her heart sank as she caught sight of her friends Peter and Allison, along with Dan Miller. They had noticed her, and she wondered how Allison had managed to escape.
"Max! We have to move!" Jasper shouted.
     "Why?" Max asked.
"I-I see your dad!" Max took Jasper's hand and led her toward a man who was conveniently away from Peter and Allison. Just as Max reached out to tap the man on the shoulder, a pair of hands clamped down on his shoulders, scaring Max senseless. The man turned out to be Mr. Dennison.
"Oh. Dad!" Max exhaled with relief.
"It's not Dad. It's 'Dadcula" Mr. Dennison joked with a grin, noticing the uneasy expressions on Max and Jasper faces. Max winced at the joke. Mr. Dennison's eyes then drifted down to his son and this girl holding hands. They quickly untangled their hands, shoving them in their pockets. His eyes drift up to see the girl, worriedly tapping her feet. "Oh my goodness. Who must this charming young blood doner be?" Mr. Dennison lifted Jasper's hand pretending to kiss it. Maybe if their situation wasn't so dire, this could've been funny.
"Dad!" Max interrupted, his voice filled with urgency. "Something terrible happened."
Mr. Dennison's face shifted from amusement to concern. "Dani? What's wrong? Wh-Wh..."
"No, Dani's fine." Max reassured him. Mr. Dennison visibly relaxed
"Good." Mr. Dennison said, turning to Jasper with a polite smile. "Excuse me," he told her, placing a hand on Max's shoulders and pulling him aside. "Come here." Mr. Dennison yanked Max at least a foot away from the Weiss girl, leaving her to look around for Dani anxiously. She sighed, trying to simmer the racing thoughts in her head. The pounding music made it hard for her to think clearly, and before she knew it, she was arguing with Mr and Mrs Dennison. Not the best first impression.
"Max! Jasper!" Dani called, breaking free from her mom's grasp. "They're here! They're here!" Jasper quickly grabbed Max and led him to Dani. Max handed the book to Jasper before sprinting off, getting lost in the sea of people. Dani pressed close to Jasper, and they both made their way to the stage as fast as they could.
"Hey, cut the music, cut the music!" Max yelled into the microphone as he leaped onto the stage.
"Hey, man I'm in the middle of a song!" the singer protested.
"It's an emergency! Only for a minute!" Max insisted. The band stopped, and the audience fell silent. "Will everybody listen up, please?" Max said through the microphone, his voice echoing. Jasper looked down at the little Dennison holding onto Binx and wrapped her arm around her, while Dani leaned on Jasper, both praying for the best. "Your kids are in danger." the audience went into hysterics. "300 years ago the Sanderson sisters bewitched people. Now they've returned from their grave." The audience roared with laughter, especially the singer. Max's frustration boiled over. He grabbed the singer by the coat and pulled him close. "Hey, man, I'm serious! It's not a joke!" Max shoved the singer off of him and looked down into the crowd to see Jasper in the crowd giving the boy a loo of encouragement. "I know this sounds dumb! But they're here tonight! They're right over there!" Max pointed as far as he could as the spotlight illuminated the three sisters. The audience backed up quickly leaving the three in the spotlight
"Thank you, Max." Winifred began. "For that marvelous introduction."

"I put a spell on you...
And now you're mine"

The song continued, its hypnotic rhythm filling the room. Dani covered her ears, unable to block out the catchy yet unsettling tune.

"You can't stop the things I do...
I ain't lyin' "

Binx leaped from from the Dennison girl's arms as she covered her ears. Jasper looked up at the troubled Max up on the stage, creating eye contact with her. She gestured her hands to signal for him to come over to them. "No! No! Don't listen to them!" Dani yelled through the singing.

"Been 300 years...
Right down to the day...
Now the witch is back!
And there's hell to pay...
I put a spell on you..."

The music reached a crescendo as the Sanderson sisters prepared to cast their spell.

"And now you're...
MINE!"

Dani and Jasper ran, searching for Max in the crowd. They collided, their panic evident as they tried to figure out what to do. Winifred and her sisters rushed up to the stage to cast their spell on the unsuspecting town. The teens crashed into each other. Jasper placed his hands on his chest as Max held her waist; they panicked to figure out what to do. "Hello Salem! My names Winifred! What's yours?"

"I put a spell on you...
And now you're gone...(gone, gone, gone! So long!)
My whammy fell on you...
And it was strong (so strong, so strong, so strong!)
Your wretched little lives
Have all been cursed
'cause of all the witches working...
I'm the worst!
I put a spell on you
And now you're mine!"

"Binx where are you!" Dani cried, clinging to Jasper and Max.

(Watch out, watch out, watch out, watch out...
She aint lyin')

A loud grunt was heard, and Billy the zombie appeared, attempting to grab the girls. Jasper ducked and pulled Dani along with Max pushing Billy away. They raced toward Max's parents.

"If you don't believe
You'd better get superstitious...
Ask my sisters! (Mm she's vicious!)"

"Mom! Dad! Thank God!" Max sighed with relief.
"Hey, Max, great show" Mr. Dennison said, his gaze fixed on the Sanderson sisters as if under a spell.
"Cover your ears!"

"I put a put spell on you!
A wicked spell!"

Dani screeches, as they ran from the approaching zombie, who crashed into the teens and ran between Max's parents. The group weaved around the chaos. Everything felt like a big blur of color. Her head wasn't on straight. She didn't know how she was still awake by now. But that didn't matter. Dani and Max and saving this stupid town is her top priority.

"I put a spell on you...
SISTERS!
Ah-say-into-pie
Oppa-maybe-uppen-die!"

"Ah-say-into-pie
Oppa-maybe-uppen-die!"

"In-kama-koray-ah-ma!"

"In-kama-koray-ah-ma!"

"Hey!"

"Hey!"

"High!"

"High!"

"Say!"

"Say!"

"Bye-bye!"

The spell continued to echo through the night, but with the final note, the three managed to escape that hellhole.
