After I came home from the club, I jumped to my bad and passed out from exhaustion. These couple of days were so crazy; I needed some time for myself with someone who doesn't even understand the rules of Poker. Tonight is my only day off, and then I work without a break till Saturday.
I am planning to spend all day doing things that I want, that I need, and that I like. No one is going to stop me from doing that.
"Knock knock." I heard a familiar voice. I tried to pretend I was still sleeping, but it didn't work. "I know you are up." Said Xavier, and I started laughing.
"The answer is absolutely no," I said, pressing the pillow to my head. " he chuckled, but even from that sound, I felt he needed something.
"You are so silly." For sure. I put a pillow down and raised my eyebrow.
"Spit it out."
"Seriously, I just wanted to check on you. How are you and how is the work...."
"Oh, cut the crap," I said and pushed myself from my bad. It's time to get up. He frowned his forehead and followed me with his still sleepy eyes. He sighed and took a seat on my bed.
"All right, but I don't want anything this time. I just want to tell you something." "Start talking." I put some clothes out and waited for him. "Now."
"I was at the club yesterday." I stopped and turned to him with a suspicious face. What did he do? "We had some business there and so on, and then, J came to me. I almost threw up because I was so nervous about what he would do or say, but then..." he paused, and I almost felt how my heart stopped.
"Then what, you moron!" I showed some socks at him.
"He asked me about you." I was standing there, in front of my closet, with stuff in my hands, and I felt nervousness running around my veins. What. He asked about me. I felt like a teen girl; come on, let Xavier finish his talk.
"Say more things." I sat down next to him without breaking eye contact.
"So first he asked me about how we know each other and then about your work, like where do you work and so on. But then, he asked If you found it."
"If I find what?"
"Well, his message." I shook my head and stood up.
"It was no message! It was just the number!" I raised my voice and threw my hands in the air.
"Well, yeah, but Billie, he doesn't lurk around Gotham City and gives out his number to anyone. At first, I thought maybe someone was just messing with you, but when he asked about it yesterday," he played with his fingers, and then he looked at me with a nervous face.
"So what now? You, Xavier, were the one who said that I absolutely, for no reason, should call that number. And now, what do you want?" oh. I know this face. He did something. "Xavier? What did you do." I practically whispered. He looked at me and pressed his lips together.
"I told him that you," I felt a panic attack coming. "That you'll call him." Yep. Here it is.
"What?" I screamed at him, and I felt that pressure on my chest. Oh God, what now. Why is this guy my nightmare all the time?
"I'm so sorry I panicked! I don't want you to call him, but he asked me about you, Billie! It was pretty scary to tell him that you don't want to call or don't want to do anything about that because he is just a psychopath." I should sit down. And drink some water. Or kicked that idiot somewhere. "He definitely wants something from you, so...."
"So?"
"Just make the fucking phone call or text him if you want, and you will see. Maybe this is only about work, hopefully." I mean, hopefully, not only about work. To be honest, I am terrified, yes, but at the same time, this excitement, that feeling I felt when I looked at him when I played with him. I wanted to feel it again, and I knew I wanted to make that phone call. I just didn't realize he was waiting for it.
