Chapter 2: Deskmates

Sena slowed his pace, stopping at the gated entrance of the school. He took a deep breath, patting down his cardigan, fixing his messy hair, he stepped into the school.

Pretty sure in this part of the manga, Minato and Sena end up in the same class, without Yuzu.

Sena made his way to his class, looking for class 1-A.

"Class 1-A... Class 1-A.." Sena mumbled.

Sena kept his head up, looking at the signs of the classrooms, not noticing, Sena's shoulder had bumped into another's.

"Ah, sorry." Sena apologized, locking eyes with that person.

"It's alright," they replied.

Sena quickly recognized who he was. He took a small step back, feeling a bit nervous.

That's... Kei Aoba.

He was Yuzu's childhood friend, competing against Minato for her love. Only to end up losing, but he did end up with Rika, the third female lead. 

Kei was tall, with nice fluffy brown hair. He had similar eyes to Sena, just a tint of lighter green. His speech was friendly towards everyone, but Sena. Of course, Kei had his reasons for that.

Kei stared at Sena, who had apologized to him. He seemed unfazed honestly.

"Pft. I guess even scums can change." Kei chuckled.

Sena scowled as he glared at Kei. Clenching his fist tightly, he took a breath out, giving Kei a slight smile.

"Right?" Sena commented.

Kei's face wasn't amused, seeing how Sena hadn't snapped at him, throwing his usual tantrums. Kei scoffed, making his way to the classroom. Sena followed behind, but not too close. Kei glanced behind him.

"Quite following me scum." Kei spit.

"It's not like I want to, my class is down this hall," Sena remarked.

"Tch," Kei muttered.

Finally reaching the classroom, Sena looked for a desk at the very back of the class. Seeming no one had claimed it, Sena quickly ran for it. He didn't want to sit in the front, the back was the best. Sena sat down near the window, the rays of sunlight flirting with his skin. He hung his bag on the hook of his desk. Eyes watched Sena. Then they followed Minato who had just walked in and Kei who sat in the middle row.

"Minato." Kei looked up, smirking.

Despite being rivals for Yuzu's love, they were still friends of course. 

Minato smiled at Kei. Girls flocked around the two. Compliments and questions filled the air. None of it bothered Sena, putting on his earphones, Sena mind his own business.

Minato jerked his head back, his eyes on Sena. He watched as Sena just sat there, paying no mind to them. Minato broke free from the crowd, walking up to the desk that sat right next to Sena's. Everyone turned their attention towards Minato.

"Sena." Minato spoke.

Sena bopped his head to the beat of his music, overflowing through his ears, blocking everything else out. Minato smiled, letting a low chuckle out. Seeing how enticed Sena was by his music. Minato tapped Sena's shoulder, catching his attention. Sena looked up, pulling one bud out.

"Is this seat beside you taken?" Minato asked.

Sena gulped as he pulled the other bud out, placing his phone down on the table. He shook his head, scooting his arm and leg over to more of his side.
