We made it to the cave and I sat Mark down against the wall. He gripped at his side groaning.

I pulled out the left over healing cream and crawled over to Mark.
"Move your hand."

Mark slowly moved his hand away and showed me his blood soaked wound.
"Shit..."

I opened the healing cream jar to realize there wasn't much left.

"Ethan..." Mark whispered. "You don't have to do this-"

"I know." I said before he could fully finish.

I scooped some cream on my finger.

"They why are you doing this?" He asked.

I didn't have an answer for that. I looked up at him with puppy eyes before sighing quietly.
"Breathe."

He looked away from me and slowly breathed in and exhaled as I softly applied the healing cream.
He hissed once he felt it reach his skin.
"Fuck!" He yelled.

I put down the jar and held out my hand. He was confused.
"Hold my hand."

"Why?"

"I don't want you to hurt yourself." I said.

He softly took my hand and gripped it slightly.
"I don't want to hurt you."

I looked at him and smiled. "I don't care."

I tapped his skin with the cream. He squinted his eyes shut and squeezed my hand. His breathing increased.

I used the last bit of cream there was left, that's when his breath became more slower and controls.
I shrugged my shoulders and said, "That was the last bit, until we find some bandages or something that's gonna have to do."

He nodded slightly and sighed.
"Okay."

I sat beside him and nuzzled him to his neck. He wrapped his arm around me and pulled me closer to him.

"You know we can't both win, right?" Mark asked.

I didn't want to think about that now but it looks like he was forcing me to.
"I know." I mumbled. "But I made a promise to keep you alive for as long as possible. I'm not letting you die now."

I looked up at him and sat up to face him.
"If you killed me now, you'd have a higher chance of winning."

I shook my head.
"I don't want to kill you now."

I leaned in and kissed him in his forehead.
Mark faced me with puppy eyes again and smiled slightly. I rested my head back on his chest and listen to his heartbeat, finding comfort in the noise. I felt him playing with my hair as I rested comfortably on him. He was so soft and being around made made me forget the situation we were in. This isn't going to last forever, so might as well make the most of it.

~Time Skip~

I had completely lost track of time and was stocked to find out that it was night time already.
I heard Mark's stomach begin to growl as he was getting hungry.
I sat up and opened our feast bag and handed him some of the food that was inside, eating some for myself.

I looked over at Mark who was already looking at me. He gazed down, pretending he never saw me. I smiled and sat in front of him. As we ate, we just stared at each other, slightly smiling at some points.
I took a moment to gaze at his scar on his eye.
It had stopped bleeding and was looking slightly better.

After a moment of silence, I heard a sound from outside the cave. It sounded like music.
Mark and I both looked out and froze.
"It's a sponsor!" Mark said.
He attempted to get up but quickly fell gripping his cut. "Fuck..." I crouched down in front of him and rested my hands on his knee.

"Stay here." I whispered. "I'll get it."

I stood up and ran out of the cave and back into the forrest. I followed the music and saw sponsor hanging on a tree. I ran over it put it from the branch.
Once I opened the box, I saw a note from Kass.

I reached into the box and pulled out a roll of bandages. I jumped for joy as I ran back to the cave.
I sat down in front of Mark and pulled open the roll.
"Lift up your shirt." I told him.

He did was he was told and exposed his wound to me, the cream didn't do much but it somewhat helped the damage. He sat up fully so I can wrapped around the bandage.
As I circled his waist with the bandage, I noticed a another scar, on his chest leading all the way down to his stomach. It didn't look new to me.

Once I wrapped his sides and placed the left over bandages in my bag and looked back up at Mark.
I stared back down at his chest again and ran my finger across his old scar tissue.
"What's this from?"

He chuckled a bit. "Surgery scar."
I moved my finger up and down his chest, each time he slightly flinched. I guess in a way it was tickling him.

I pulled away and stared back up into his puppy eyes.
"How do you feel?" I asked him.

He let out a mix of a sigh and giggle before responding.
"Still stings but better."

"Good."

I crawled back over to Marks side and snuggled up to him. I rested my head on his shoulder as we both embraced the silence.
But eventually the comforting silence was broken when Mark whispered, "Ethan..."

I looked up at him as he dropped his hand down to my leg.
"Do you love me?" He asked.

I felt a smile form on my face.
"Of course I do, you know how I feel about you."

Mark smiled as well as he rested his head my shoulder.
"You know that I care about you very much, right?"

He sighed happily through his nose as he fluttered his eyes open to face me.

"I know."
