"Good morning officer." Aziraphale sweetly said. Aziraphale knew it was the angel Muriel but why let them know that? Muriel's face lit up, their smile grew.
"Yes! Exactly! I'm a human police officer." They proudly said, Aziraphale looked back at the angel. He was so done with heaven at this point. He hummed, slightly annoyed. "I thought you were." He said, trying to be sweet, but it came off more sarcastic. They didn't seem to realize thought. "Wonderful! Well you are right I am." Aziraphale gave one last smile. "Right, well how can I help you officer?" He curiously asked, Muriel cleared their throat and nodded to themselves.
"Right well, as a human police officer I can unintrusively monitor you without any suspicion." They proudly said, although that wasn't fully true Aziraphale has already given up on trying. "Indeed you can." He softly said, almost like he was talking to a child. Muriel giggled slightly. "Great! Well...can I come inside and do an inspect please? I think cause it's really noisy out here and I can't hear anything." Aziraphale smiled and nodded. "By all means." He miracled the water to heat up itself and turn the stove off.
Aziraphale gestured for them to come inside his shop. He flipped the sign to closed and led Muriel to the seats in the main area of the bookshop. He awkwardly stood next to them as they sat down. "Cup of tea officer?" He gently asked, Muriel had a small panic. They had never had tea, infact this was their first time down at earth. That's why they had no earth clothes on. "Um....yes?" They questiones themselves, Aziraphale sighed with a smile. "A Human police officer would regularly have a cup of tea." He added, Muriel nodded.
"Oh, then so shall I!" They laughed trying to hide their nervousness. Aziraphale walked over to the small kitchen, he wispered to himself. He grabbed the kettle and poured some tea into it. "Oh for fu...heavens sake." He snapped his fingers and tea appeared in the two cups, he carried the two cup in his hands. One was white with some designs and the other was just plain white. He handed the cup to Muriel and sat down across from them. Muriel picked the slightly warm cup up and stared at it. They didn't know what to do with the mysterious liquid in their hands.
"To drink." Aziraphale tried to explain to the clueless Angel in front of him. There was a silence, Muriel continued to stare at the cup of tea. The White haired angel sipped the tea trying to explain to Muriel how to drink the tea. He didn't know what Muriel knew or what they didn't. When he first came to earth he was clueless as well, but there wasn't as many complications. "Y'know I think I'll just look at mine for a while." Muriel laughed slightly, Aziraphale nodded understandably. "As you please." He sweetly said, Muriel gulped looking at the tea.
"Great!" There was a small silence, then Muriel continued to talk. "As I always say, the best part of a cup of tea is looking at it." They laughed at their own words, before Aziraphale could say more Crowley kicked the door open. He threw a book to the floor and stomped over to the main area. "This is ridiculous." He snapped, Muriel looked confused. "Why don't you just go buy a train you love trains." He mocked, he finally got to the main area. Aziraphale sighed, setting his cup down. "Who's this now?" He asked, pointing to the unfamiliar angel.
"This is a human police officer that just popped in to have a quick look at a cup of tea." He explained, Crowley looked at Aziraphale than back to Muriel. "Hello Hello Hello!" Muriel greeted him sweetly, they knew Crowley was a demon but they couldn't break character. "Tell me constable-" "Inspector." Muriel corrected him nervously, Aziraphale glanced to Muriel. "Oh, no you are dressed as a Constable." Aziraphale noted, Crowley nodded gesturing to Aziraphale on agreement. "Inspector Constable, that's my name." Muriel had a hint of worriedness in their tone.
"Course it is." Aziraphale said, unsurprisingly. Crowley started laughing as he sat beside Aziraphale on the love seats arm, leaning against Aziraphale. "First visit to earth is it by any chance?" He asked, holding back some laughs that he would get out later. "Yes! It's just amazing just-" They cut themselves off immediately. Crowley stole Aziraphales tea and sipped it. "Or rather...no obviously I've been here for like...200 years, oh! But when I said yes just then that was an error which proves that I'm human."
Muriel laughed innocently but nervously. "Of course, perhaps you meant this is your first visit to london." Aziraphale suggested, Muriel smiled widely like a child getting candy. "Yes! That's right, I was recently transferred to London from another...human settlement-" Crowley cut them off to make a comment. "Oh yeah, which one?" Muriel's brows furrowed slightly confused, Muriel opened their mouth to say something but they didn't know what to say.
"Word with you angel, in private." The Demon quickly said, tapping on Aziraphale shoulder. They both stood up and started to walk over to the back. Muriel stopped them, stumbling over their words. They walked over to them and stopped them. "I'm supposed to observe you." They innocently said, the other Angel and Demon shared a glance. "Oh don't worry, we could just tell you everything we talked about afterwards." The Angel explained, Muriel let out a relieved breath. "Oh, great!" They giggled, still smiling at the two.
Crowley started at Muriel, he was already over this shit. First Mary visited him, now this crap. "Thanks!" Muriel added while they started to hurry into the back. Crowley closes the door behind them and then spun back around to look at the Angel.
