18. Raking leaves with another character
"Stupid dead leaves." Arizona shoved another handful into the trash bag, and America just shook his head, smiling a bit.
There were a lot of upsides to having a big house, but there were also lots of downsides. Like raking stupid leaves during stupid fall.
Arizona should be inside playing marbles or making apple pie, but he got stuck outside cleaning up the grounds.
"It's not too bad, you could be on snow shoveling duty this year." America picked up another pile of wilting branches and orange leaves.
"I guess you're right."
