"Help!"
"Let us out!"
"I will break your face!"
Our heroes trapped behind walls screamed at the top of their lungs knowing that they could not prevail this way. Crystyl slumped against the wall and laid her head on her lap. The walls were covered black burns and scorches that Crystyl had made in attempt to burn down the wall. Fireproof. Similar markings dotted the walls of Cedric and Charles's rooms. There attempts at escape with brute force were futile. It seemed as if each room was customized to keep them still.
"So... Anyone attempt to open there chests yet?" Charles questioned through the walls.
"No. I'm way to tired to try." Said Crystyl exhausted.
"It seems like we've been here forever." Complained Cedric."Well we should get some rest. It's late."
"Yes. No use getting sour. Until we open these chests there is no way to leave. We need to stay sharp." Said Charles
"Agreed. Good night."Said Crystyl yawning
"Night" Charles answered
"Laew bain olthas. Many good dreams." Cedric wished.
Crystyl fell quickly asleep but Cedric and Charles were not quite as quick.
"How do you think Nyarna is?" Cedric asked "I worry."
Cedric attempted to look at Charles even though there was a brick wall in between them.
"And you wonder why Duath ran off with Bob." Charles answered truthfully.
"What is that supposed to mean Charles?" Said Cedric slightly pissed at him.
"You know what I mean. You know." Concluded Charles.
Cedric placed his bow beside him and curled up on the cold stone floor. He did not sleep much that night. Charles placed his helmet on top of the chest and closed his eyes entwining his fingers and laid them on his lap. It was a long, cold and uncomfortable night for all. Cedric's eyelids fluttered open.
"Anyone else up?" Asked Charles apparently to the air. The response was a long and defining yawn
"Me." Said Charles with a flat-tone
"Get much sleep?" asked Cedric sympathetic towards his tiredness because of his own lack of sleep.
"No." Said Charles yawning again "Barely got a wink"
"Really? You seemed quite silent." Cedric asked deepening the question
"Just thinking..." He said explaining " Sorry about what I said last night... I was just..."
"I know... We are all so tired... So much has been happening in these past few days. I myself wonder... Who are we... Besides our names... Just pawns in a war... A game? Why are we here? Why us?" Cedric asked Charles expecting no answer.
Charles thought about this for a second. "I don't know. But I do know we will find out... Soon enough."
Crystyl stretched her arms out far and wiggled her claws. She stretched her tail and gave a great big yawn.
"Good morning!" She was cheery as always unaware of the conversation. "Now who wants to open those chests!"
"Heh. It's like Christmas!" Cheered up Charles
"I guess you're right!" Agreed Cedric "Well. Not going to get out by sitting here are we? Time to make our way out of here!"
The three rose from the ground lazily and made there way to the chests at the far end of the rooms. Charles's stomach growled like a monster. He was starving.
"Wait! We haven't eaten in days! We should wait a second and eat." Charles blurted out.
"Oh sure..." Crystyl ridiculed "Let's just sit down and have a formal dining experience in the middle of a trap that may or may not kill us!"
Cedric broke into the conversation 'Guys! We should have a nibble of something or the thing that will be killing us here will be starvation. I am sure there is something we can eat in here."
Rifling through their satchels they searched for something to fill their empty stomachs crying for food. They found at least 3 rations each in their packs. Smiling they each ate one of the rations and filled there hunger gap. Charles burped loudly and Crystyl made a disgusted noise
"God. It's times like this i'm glad there is a wall separating us." Crystyl observed
"Agreed." Nodded Cedric even though no one could see him.
They again walked toward the chests. Crystyl was the first to flip the gold latch on the red wood chiffonier. Crystyl gasped and gagged at the sight of what was contained. An exact replica body of Crystyl was locked inside. Except this version of her... Was dead. The Crystyl replica had fire proof claws and it's decaying corpse body was covered in laceration and decayed almost beyond recognition. But it was most definitively her.
"Guys... Anyone else see the dead replica of them..." Crystyl whispered scared.
"Yes." They said in unison
