Krystyn, a short young girl, was walking home one in the midst of the night. She was returning home from her boyfriend, Ruben's house. He had kissed her goodnight when she refused his offer to walk her home. She made her way onto the side road on which she lived where the street lights were known to fail. She had done this many times before yet this time she was wary. There she felt a slight chill in the air yet it was mid summer.
She heard a loud bang before breaking into a run but something had grabbed her by the hood of her boyfriend's jacket. She let out a yelp as she was raised into the air by an invisible being. Blood dripped down her fingertips as the creature ripped her skin from her body revealing the underlying tissue. It dropped her body in a heap on the side of the road before melting away into the night.
-------------
Sirens blared as people rushed around the crime scene searching for an explanation to the death of a young girl. An impala cruised towards the set of police cars stationed a few yards from the scene. The officers walked over as two men came out in suits who seemed to be in the middle of a heated discussion. Shooting a glare at the longer haired man, the shorter man approached the first responder he saw with a scowl still on his face.
"So, what exactly happened here?" the short man said as they both flashed their badges.
"Her name is Krystyn Thompson. It seems her skin was pulled right off her muscle tissue," the first responder stepped aside to reveal the mutilated body, "There was no trace of fingerprints at all and no evidence of a murder weapon. I'd call it,"
"The perfect murder?" The shorter man interrupted.
"Well, yeah." The responder replied looking back at the scene in front of him.
"May we take a look at the body?" He asked, looking past the responder.
"Well, the other officers are looking at the bodies now, you can join them."
The two men nodded before walking towards the forensics team and officers that were standing by the pile of flesh. The long haired men glanced at the two officers in curiosity for they looked fairly young for someone in their occupation. They were girls; one was tall with medium length ginger hair wearing animal print glasses, the other was shorter with brown hair and thick-rimmed, purple glasses. They were in a deep discussion and hadn't noticed the two men arrive.
The longer haired man cleared his throat, waiting to be acknowledged. The two turned to see them and they blushed in embarrassment.
"Oh, hello. Sorry about that. What can we do for you?"
"We're here to evaluate the body. This is our specialty I suppose you could say." The ginger haired girl raised an eyebrow suspiciously.
"I think our forensics team is qualified enough without the FBI becoming involved. We have this under control. Thank you for stopping by though." With that she turned on her heel and walked back to the body bending down to talk to the man collecting samples of tissue.
"Sorry about her. She is quite protective of her work. Anyway, who are you two exactly?" The other girl said pushing her glasses up briefly.
"I'm Dean and this is Sam." The other man said impatiently. Sam rolled his eyes at his brother before shooting a smile at the girl.
"And who are you?" Sam asked.
"I'm Dean and the ginger who walked away is Gingersnap."
"Wait, so your name is Dean too?"
"No, my name is Brianna, but my friends call me that because I completely act like this character from a book." She smiled proudly. Dean gave her a questionable look before glancing over at his brother.
"Mind if I take a look? It's really important that we see the body." She simply nodded before leading them to the body where Gingersnap was busy talking to another officer.
"Hey Gingersnap!" Brianna yelled as she approached her friend.
"How many times do I have to tell you not to call me that." She said as she rolled her eyes. Her eyes narrowed seeing the two men following her.
"They said it was important besides you can't really deny someone higher ranked than us." Gingersnap cringed seeing as she was only an officer and they were FBI agents and they could take her case away.
"Fine. But only for a few minutes. Then I want them gone. This is my first case and I don't want them screwin' it up. Got it?" Brianna rolled her eyes with a wave of her hand.
"Yeah, yeah. I got it. Go ahead guys." The two thanked her and continued on their way as Gingersnap glared daggers at them.
"Don't mess with anything!" She snapped at them.
