Hans was annoyed, everyone was in a buzz about the competition, even the Hufflepuffs were more annoying than useful. Hans didn't know how they were always so happy, they were the most looked down upon house, Slytherins bullied them, Ravenclaws thought they were stupid, and Gryffindors thought they were cowardly, that's the way things had always been. But the Hufflepuffs were always so happy and cheerful and ready to accept everyone, Hans wasn't sure if it was nice or infuriating. The common room was so loud with all the younger kids encouraging the 7th years to keep their names in and the 7th years saying they would only take their names out if their friend really wanted to go. Hans scoffed, "He knew they wanted the fame, they just had to pretend to be nice. The girl from a day ago, Alissa, walked over, "Isn't this contest so exciting?" she giggles. Hans rolled his eyes and looked up from his homework, "What the point if we can't compete?" he asks. "Alissa sits next to him, "to cheer on your friends, so have fun watching, and most importantly, learn new things about each house," she says grinning. Hans thought this was a wise comment, but did what he was expected, "I already know all I need to know about the houses," he scoffed. The boy, Alex, came over sat on the other side of Hans. Hans made a mental note not to sit on the couch next time so nobody could sit next to him. "This I'll be so cool to watch I wonder which house is gonna win," Alex said. "Watch" it was that word again, what if Hans didn't want to watch? "I think Slytherin is gonna win," Hans said, "We're cunning enough." "I never doubted you I just want Hufflepuff to win," Alissa smiled. Hans scoffed, "No offense, but I don't think a puff is brave enough, these challenges are gonna be pretty terrifying." Alex looked offended, "Just because were nice doesn't mean we're cowards," he said. "Well that's what everyone calls you," Hans shrug, "Especially Gryffindor." "Since when did Slytherins agree with Gryffindors?" Alex asked annoyed. "Since you gave us a reason to," Hans stood up and walked off feeling guilty, but he would never admit it. Slytherins had a reputation to uphold and his feelings wouldn't make him turn against his house.
