I up and left after the fire. I knew who started it. It wasn't somebody it was something. I had seen it before a few times never in real life until that day. In the books my grandfather had in his cellar. I love my parents very much but I barely knew them. They died when I was much younger so I was homeschooled my my grandfather. He taught me much more then just math, science, English and history... he taught how to fight and hunt! It was those times out in the woods where I felt free. Like i could breath and not have to worry. Not have to have a care in the world. To be able to be myself.
It was the times where he would be gone for days at a time where I learned to trust myself. To take care of myself. Of course my Grandfather taught me the basics. But its not the same as having no one there. So I would look around the house. Go on adventure as i would called them. It ended up pretending i was some great explorer who would find the greatest treasures in the world, and save everyone; while putting my life on the line. For a girl it wasn't normal but i loved it.
One day I found his cellar door unlocked. I went in and didn't leave the whole time he was gone except to eat and go to the washroom. It was full of old books and scary looking creature. I say creature cause i wasn't sure what to call them. But it all fascinated me. I asked him about it when he got home and that's when my life took action. I was 12. He ended up dying a few years later. It was the same thing that lite that house in fire. and now I was on the hunt once more. this time a different type of hunting. thought the years he had taught me i had made copies of almost everything. not the only thing i have left is his old New York Yankees hat and his journal.
I've been hunting this thing for almost 10 years. and in those years i have come across so many things. who would have known that my games i played when i was younger would actually happen. Ive almost caught it a few time. there was this one fire that i remember so clearly. a little girl family burned alive, while she had to watch. That night has stayed in my mind since. that was the day i realized that it wasn't just me who wanted revenge. but i wanted to help save people. like what my grandfather did. "Hunting things the family business."
