Chapter 1: Training to be the very best.

Narrator: After Ash defeated Cynthia in the semifinals and Leon defeated Diantha, they both qualified for the World Championships Series Final, and Ash has been training in preparation for it at the Research Lab.

"Okay everyone, the finals are in one week, so we all have to train our hardest to beat Leon and win the finals!" Ash said

"So, for today's training, we're going to be fighting in duos duels, and I'll be passing from one duel to the next, giving some moves and strategies.

I will be passing to practice some things and try new ideas with each one of you, but I want you all to practice on your reflexes and use what we have done together before without needing my help so that we become stronger and take Leon by surprise with a *WHAM*." Ash then explained and threw his fist up in the air

All of Ash's team nodded and cried in excitement.

"Now for the teams..." Ash said as he began to think of potential match-ups and ideas to begin the practice.

"I got it!" Ash exclaimed.

"Dragonite, I want you to fight against Dracovish so that you can work on your Dragon-type moves and counter the other's strengths like how Dragonite can fly and how Dracovish can fight from close."

Both Dragonite and Dracovish nodded before Dragonite flew over to Ash and hugged him tightly.

Ash was running out of oxygen because of the hug and said "Need... breathe."

Dragonite let him go, though with a saddened face.

Ash regained his breath and said, "Okay, Pikachu, I want you to fight against Sirfetch'd, and both of you to work on your speed and agility, 'kay?"

Pikachu and Sirfetch'd nodded

"Lastly, Lucario, I want you to fight against Gengar, but Gengar, I want you to try and be sneaky by disappearing.

Lucario, try and use your aura to find where Gengar is, ok?"

Gengar and Lucario both nodded and Lucario said "Luca!" lifting his fist and clenching it.

"Now let's gooo!" Ash exclaimed excitedly, and the Pokémon began to duel. Ash first decided to go over to the fight between Dragonite and Dracovish, around five minutes after they began dueling.

"Dragonite, get in close and use Dragon Claw."

Dragonite flew and his claw shone green.

"Now, Dracovish, counter it with Ice Fang."

Dracovish prepared as he said "Dracovish." then both Pokémon clashed and Dracovish held onto Dragonite's claw.

Ash saw this stalemate and realized how to use it, saying "Dracovish, keep biting Dragonite's claw and use Water Gun."

"Dragonite, try and break free using your other hand to use Dragon Claw."

Dragonite did as told and hit Dracovish on the side with a Dragon Claw, but Dracovish didn't budge and retaliated by using Water Gun on Dragonite's face, letting go of Dragonite's claw and sending Dragonite flying backwards.

Ash looked happy, as he moved on to the duel between Lucario and Gengar, and noticed Lucario was overpowering Gengar using Aura Spheres.

However after a while, this overpowering turned into cockiness, as Lucario was being less attentive.

This allowed Gengar to use Shadow Ball on the floor, creating a cloud of dust and smoke and using that cloud as a distraction to fade out.

The fade out led to Lucario starting to look around in worry, as Gengar prepared and hit him with an Ice Punch, sending Lucario backwards to slam against a tree.
