Chapter 7: Pushing yourself for a dream

Somewhere else in Galar a couple of hours before...

"Goh!

It's already night and we're still here out in the middle of nowhere!

Why can't you stop your Pokémon catch craziness just onceeee!" Chloe grunted in annoyance "Sorry Chloe, I just can't help it sometimes.

I...

I just feel like I have to hurry sometimes if I want to accomplish my dreams, and get carried away!" Goh answered in a nervous tone

Chloe looked at the boy and couldn't help but grin, because while he could sometimes be just as naive as Ash Ketchum, it was sort of cute for her to see.

"It's fine Goh, though now we have to figure out what to do since we're stranded in the middle of nowhere..." Chloe said

She pulled out her phone just to make sure that there wasn't any cell signal, which predictably when in the middle of a random area, there wasn't any.

Goh was busy thinking until he thought of something to do and said

"Hehe.

I know just what to do!"

Chloe looked at him in surprise and with a sly grin said "Oh really?

Goh chuckled at the sudden challenge and said "Yep."

He took off his backpack, put it on the floor, and began looking through it, using the flashlight from his phone to help him see since it was starting to get dark.

"A-ha!

Found it!" Goh said but didn't show Chloe what he found.

"Found what?" Chloe asked

Goh was now the one with the grin, as he pulled out a large green bag from his backpack and said "Found this!"

Chloe sweatdropped as she said, "I still don't know what you're talking about Goh."

Goh also sweatdropped as he realized what Chloe meant and said "Oh... right.

Here, take a look for yourself."

He moved the bag towards Chloe and opened it so that Chloe could see.

She used the flashlight from her phone to see what was inside and inside was... A whole bag of camping supplies.

"Oh wow!

You have been carrying that around all this time?!" Chloe asked, surprised

"Yep, I have." Goh said

They opened the bag and pulled out what was inside, which were some materials to start a bonfire, ones that were designed to be as foolproof and not accidentally burn their backpacks or a forest, they also pulled out their sleeping bags, ones that Goh packed since he knew that Chloe didn't do these long travels and decided to pack it for her.

Goh took the rest of the things out without checking them since as far as he remembered it was just the things needed to set up 2 tents and went to get some wood logs.

He brought them back and they made a small campfire.

They took out some marshmallows that Goh had seen in one shop and had wanted to buy, as well as some food they got while they were shopping, sat down on their folded sleeping bags, and began eating.

The two had a fun time, with Chloe telling Goh about the adventure that she had with her dad and Goh telling her about how cool Ash was at the Masters 8, even if his match with Cynthia had been one that was down to the wire, a truly nerve-wracking experience.
