Chapter 4: Remembering the Cold

After leaving the airport, they went to a cafe, since they had seen some tasty-looking treats. In that cafe, Chloe ordered a table for the three of them, and the waiter led them to a free table.

They thanked the waiter and observed the menu, looking at the surprisingly diverse menu the cafe had been offering for tourists wanting to see the Masters 8 tournament.

They sat down, ordered some light snacks, as they had eaten a little on the plane and weren't too hungry, and then began seeing how to get to the Pokémon training institution on Chloe's phone.

They saw the fastest way to get there and saw that there were some shops on the path that Chloe wanted to go to.

"Are you sure you want to go there, Chloe?

Last time we went shopping you spent hours looking at clothes and accessories not just for yourself but also for Eevee." Goh said, and when Chloe looked at him and Ash, she couldn't help but giggle a bit as she saw their petrified faces just processing the thought of shopping.

Chloe then responded by saying "Yes, I am sure Goh, and we also need to get you some special outfit to cheer for 'Satoshi'."

Goh blushed out of embarrassment at imagining himself in a cheerleader outfit.

Ash saw Goh's embarrassment as well as keeping the thought of shopping and how for him anything about shopping related equaled bad.

The only exception Ash knew to this rule was when shopping with Serena, because while the shopping itself was boring like normal, seeing Serena go happily around and be filled with joy every time she saw a pretty dress filled him with a funny feeling.

' That feeling is love, Ash.'

Ash then made a mental note to remember that the funny feeling he felt was the weird kind of love every time he felt it, at least until he could call it love and not a funny feeling. "...shi, Earth to Satoshi." Goh said while waving his hand at Ash's face as Ash realized that his thoughts led him to stand motionlessly, again.

Ash wasn't about to tell Goh and Chloe what his thoughts were and instead focused on getting Goh and himself out of the shopping debacle, one that he had no interest in being a part of. "Oh, sorry,

I was just remembering how Professor Cerise entrusted essential things to us and that we should get it to the person in the institution as fast as we can, like with a ZOOM!" Ash said, as his two friends looked at him surprised at his use of onomatopoeia as if he was a small child and not 15 years old.

Chloe responded by saying "Since when have you cared about getting a package in time?" in a taunting tone.

Goh realized what Ash's plan was and backed him up by saying "I agree with Ash, it's pretty important to get the package to the person running the institution."

Chloe looked at him in surprise but her look changed to a saddened one and then to a more angry one."I thought that you would back me up here, Goh."

Goh was now filled with sorrow and looked to the ground, before getting a bright idea to lighten the mood.

"Chloe, how about after we deliver the package, we can go do the shopping you wanted while Ash trains in the facility." Goh said with a slight smirk at his idea

Chloe was surprised by the idea, but smiled and said "Of course!" before she ran up to Goh and gave him a hug.

Goh was surprised as he knew his plan was good, but he didn't consider that good that Chloe would hug him in joy.

I could get used to this , Goh thought and felt himself blush at the idea.

They both hugged for so long that most customers began staring at them in confusion as if there was some important thing that one had told the other, while Ash and Pikachu were holding back so much laughter at seeing the two just hug while being stared at.
