History/Quick backstory: Layla is the daughter of the infamous Lake Monster. The two live in the water, lurking just out of human sight. Much like Ariel (from Little Mermaid) Layla always dreamed of going to the surface. Once she was old enough (probably about 16 or so in human terms) her father allowed her to go out. She had to follow some rules, one: leave the water under cover of night, two: do not tell anyone what you are, and three: be back before sunrise. She's followed the rules, slipping out of the water at night, never talking to anyone and then returning to her home before the sunrises.
