Lauren Pov: from lunch (invite) to now

"Yeah okay, see you" I give the girl whose name is Dinah, a little wave for bye

I turn my head back and start walking towards Ashley and all the other "pops", that I've heard people call them.
Getting to the table, I overheard Ash talking about some girl she was in a fight with a month ago and she started to talk crap again.

I'm not really for drama so when I sat, I just called Lucy. She'll probably know how to get me out of this.

"Hey Lauren, I wanna tell you about-"

I cut her off in saying, "Sorry I'm calling someone really important"

"Oh it's okay, just wanted to tell you about a fight that happened but it's alright" Ashley turns back and dismisses telling me and goes back to telling Brad and this other girl. Who I found out is named Jenna.

Lucy picked up after two rings and answered so happily to finally hear from me since I got in my car to move.

"Hey babe!! How's it going?! I can't really say on the call cuz right now I'm going to 8th period, but I have time"

"Oh, it's okay, just get on time... And it's going great, I've found a lot of new people I can talk too and I'm in a group, it's cool... So far"

Lucy and I talked for about 10 more minutes till she had to go cuz of class. I understood but now I had to face Ash with her story, unless... She forgot. *I hope so*

Lucy ends the call and I put my phone in my pocket to eat the last veggie I had on my plate.

"Who was that?... If I may ask" Ashley says

"My girlfriend, Lucy" I say and I slowly see Ashley go from a smile to having a confused look on her face.
I didn't know why that happened but Ash gave me a nod and turned away to talk again.

*That's odd but okay* I thought

Lunch ended and only 2 periods left, but it all went by fast, thanks to my day dreaming.

I come out of school and try to find my car because I forgot where I parked it. I got my car key and pressed it and my car lights lit up.

Right before I started walking towards it, I saw the Camila girl staring at me, I turned and I was going to give her a little wave, till she ran off to her car.

"That's weird" I said to myself.
Going for my car and driving home, I gave my friends a quick call of how my day went in school.

All of them were pleased to hear everything went well and that I was doing well in school.

I got back home and decided to play video games in my spare time.
*I'll do my homework later* I thought.

3 hours had passed and I was finishing up on my homework when I got a buzz from my phone. I picked it and saw the text from Dinah.

*Oh right, forgot about that for a minute*

Dinah: 6245 Maple Sam Street

                             A few hours ago

                                    Now 6:19

Dinah: Yo Lauren I wanted to text u to say that my fams having a cookout now

Dinah: Are u still in?

*That's good, I'm actually starving since I only ate the lunch food* I think.

Me: Yeah, don't worry. What time do I have to be there again tho?

Dinah: just before 7:30 that's all n u can wear anything it doesn't matter

Me: okay, sounds good. Thanks. I'll be there at 7

Dinah: sweet, aight bye dude😎🤙

I checked the time and it was 6:37 so I had plenty of time. I got dressed in a brown light sweater and some loose jeans cuz Dinah said anything.

I got done and lastly I put some perfume to top it off.

It was now 6:49 and I got in my car to drive to her house. I make it there on the dot at 7

*Hah! I've never done that before* I thought as I knocked on the door, to be greeted by Dinah.

"Yo yo yo!! You arrived on the dot! How about you get yourself a drink and sit in the living room or outside if you want" Dinah proclaimed as she pats me on the back and gestures me to the living room and to the back door.

"I'll go outside but I'll stay inside for a bit, is that alright? I get a little anxious around new people" I told Dinah

"Yeahh that's okay, don't worry. I'll be outside though if you need me. But since you'll be here, can you open the door for my fam? I have to be preparing everything outside"

" Sure", Dinah goes outside and I grab myself a Dr Pepper from the kitchen and sit myself on the couch. It was 7:32 already and I saw a lot of Dinah's family members and some were greeting me at the door, which I didn't mind.

*She sure does have a lot of cousins* I thought when it was her 7th cousin greeting me.

Soon, Dinah came inside and asked if I'd seen Camila anywhere or if she came

"No, she hasn't come, why?"

"It's cuz she's a little late but it's cool, she probably forgot, I'll just call her." Dinah went back outside to take the call.

It was nearly around 8 and I've been outside ever since Dinah called Camila. Her family is pretty cool, and I've realized Dinah is a really funny person to be around with. Normani who was a little bit of a social butterfly in the beginning, opened up more once she saw I'm not a threat to her friendship with Dinah.

"Hey I'm going to get a drink, all this laughing made me thirsty" I tell Normani and Dinah

"That's fine" Dinah said while still chuckling from Normani's joke.

I come back in and I hear a persistent knocking on the door.

I go to open it, thinking it's another one of her family members but I open it and

"Wow" is all I say to Camila...

Soo.... I'm trying to really move the story along but I can't cuz its hard as a first time writer so bare with me😅

I hope u like this, it was Laurens pov to see her side on how she sees Normani and Dinah.

Because since this is from an Irl thing, Normani Is my other bsf and I'm Dinah...
