Chapter 6

I look outside one last time to make sure my parents weren't home. I was thinking about this all day at school. I just couldn't help getting excited about it. I call Amy over so that she can put the password in for my parent's Skype.

You would think that she would tell me the password for Skype but she and I both know it's better if I don't know. Being radically honest and a horrible liar has its downfalls.

She puts it in and tells me to call her when she can talk to Mike. I called Cody's account and after a little while, he answers.

"Hey! It's about time." That's how he greets me.

"What? I just got home. Sorry it took so long, I was waiting on Nick so we could walk home. Then I had to make sure that my parental units weren't coming home anytime soon." I reply.

"Who's Nick? Should I be worried about some friendly competition?" He smirks at me.

I roll my eyes, "Nick's only my best friend since grade one. Just a friend. No competition there, trust me. That's too weird thinking about him as more than that."

"Okay good. Or else I'd have to start bringing out my big guns?" Big guns? Oh the arrogance.

I chuckle, "Big guns?" I raise my eyebrows.

"Yeah," he takes off his sweater and flexes his bulging muscles.

"Whoa, there buddy! Put your clothes back on. This isn't a strip club!" But man, did he look fine in all his wife beater glory, I got to notice just how ripped he was. Those winter jackets did not do him justice.

He chuckles, and then flexes his muscles again. "I'm talking about these guns, Thunder and Lightning." He named...his muscles.

"Whatever," I smile, "How's your week been without me? I bet you were dying. Your life was just so dull without me, wasn't it?"

"Oh definitely Lea, every night is sleepless without you." He tries saying it with a straight face and we both stare at each other for ten seconds before bursting out laughing. I register in my head, somehow, that he has a really deep laugh. Talk about S-E-X-Y!

"Just answer the question!"

"It was good, Lea. My teachers want to bloody kill me with the amount of homework that they're giving me. Then again, I can't say I'm one of their favorites."

"That's the story of every teenager's life. Oh? Why not?" I was genuinely curious about this.

"Have you seen my dashing looks? All the ladies want me, so you know; they stare at my sexiness all class and don't pay attention. So the teachers get annoyed." He smugly said.

"Aw, Cody you're too cute! You make up imaginary girls, just to boost your already huge ego."

"Hey! Way to hurt a guy's ego." He pouts. Actually pouts! Have mercy, I try my best to hold back my laughter.

"Muffin! You know I'm only joking. But I'm still guessing that that's not the only reason why you're teachers aren't too fond of you."

"Well, it might be because I almost - accidentally I swear – set the school on fire." He looks down and I burst out laughing again. You'll come to find that I laugh. A lot.

"How did you manage that?" He looks up at me and smiles. Let me tell you, the sight is breathtaking. His smile literally lights up the rest of his face. Cody's eyes even tinkle a little.

"Well long story short, I was trying to make popcorn and I left the culinary room, when I came back to the room half of the room was smoking."

"Oh my goodness! I mean, I can't cook or anything. So I don't have much say, and anything I try to cook burns, but never in my life have I, EVER, burnt popcorn!"

"It was an accident! Honest! Don't laugh at me! I was grounded for three weeks!"

"LYLY! Get off now! I want to talk to Mike before mom and dad get home! Oh, hi Cody, be a gem and call Mike for me please." Amy interrupts Cody and my conversation. Cody and I say goodbye and he goes to get Mike so they can talk.

I've missed him so much. I never realized until I was saw his face. Why am I such a sucker for guys with accents?

I see both my parents' vans pull up into the driveway at the same time. I quickly run to Amy warning her that they're home. She quickly says goodbye to Mike and logs out and off. We sprint to our rooms where our desks were already set up with textbooks, pencils, pens and all that jazz to make it look like we were doing homework.

I soon hear the key in the door then voices.

"Hey guys! We're home from picking up your siblings, come down here, we brought dinner!" My dad yelled from downstairs.

Amy and I run down the stairs and hug everyone.

"Is that pizza I smell?" Amy asks, my mom nods her head and we walk into the kitchen just to see four extra large pizza boxes on the table.

"Uh, mom, is this dinner for the next four days?" That's got to be the reason why my parents went crazy on the pizza.

"No. Nick, Luke, Serenity, and Raina are coming over for dinner." Serenity and Raina are Luke's little sisters. Serenity is thirteen and friends with Nathan, Raina is eleven and friends with Sammy.

"Oh, okay, but do we really need that much pizza?" I mean four extra large boxes seem like a lot for ten people.

"You're Nick and Luke's best friend and you don't know that they're growing boys who need to eat a lot of food?" Typical mother, always looking out for problems she can fix.

"Mom, that's going to sit in our fridge for the next..."

The doorbell rings interrupting my sentence. They're here.

Opening the door before anyone in my family could, I greet Raina, Serenity, and Luke.

"Where's Nick?" I ask Luke as Serenity and Raina go to find Nathan and Sam.

"He's not here yet?" If he were, would I really be asking where he was Luke? Guys can be so slow at times.

"No, he's not. That's why I asked you where he was. I figured he'd come with you and your sisters."

"I'll go get him then." Luke says walking back to put on his winter jacket.

"No, it's fine. I'll go. Make yourself comfortable and NOT in my chair Luke." I say while grabbing my grey jacket and putting on my black, fur boots. I then turn around to give him a warning glare.

He puts his hands up in sign of surrender. "Fine, I promise I won't sit in it."

I smile, then as quick as it's there, it's gone. I call out to Sammy and Raina telling them that if Luke sits in my chair, I give them permission to make him over. With this threat, he shudders and walks into the family room, while I walk out the door.

I walk across the lawn to Nick's house and walk in. No point in knocking, it's not like I've ever knocked before.

"Nick! The Queen has entered the building! You may take a bow now!" I say while walking towards the stairs to get to his room.

There's no reply and I find it odd. I get to his door that is filled with signs that say things like, "STAY OUT!" and "DO NOT DISTURB!" Completely ignoring the signs, as I usually do I walk into his room to see...

---A/N---

What?! Why did I do that? Because, I felt like it. That and I'm currently writing chapter 7 so, the updates should be coming in more frequently now...not waiting months at a time for chapters. Horrible? I know. It's just that I was having trouble with what direction I wanted this story to go in.

This story is dedicated to Kris, she's part of the elite. Don't know what that is? It's probably because you're not part of it. ;p I'm sorry to say that even if you wanted to join, the membership is at full capacity. Sorry. O:)

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed. Please give me brutally honest feedback, seriously, I won't cry of throw a fit or anything like that. I just want to see where I can improve my writing. Thanks! :)
