Olivia's POV
Two Months Later"Yes, babe! I made it to the gym safely. And I'm in the middle of my session." I tell him in between rounds.
"Babe, I'm sorry! I just miss you." Darnell responds cutely and I already forgive him for interrupting me. "I'm boarding the plane in an hour. So, I'll definitely be home for the New Years Eve party."
I smile because I can't wait to see him. We spent Christmas Day together. Then, he flew out to visit his family for a few days after that.
"Next round," the instructor yells.
"I have to go baby. See you tonight." I say quickly before we hang up.
Darnell and I have been enjoying each other's company for a few months now. And I love the way he treats me. So I look forward to seeing him tonight. But for now, my focus is on my workout.
"For this next exercise, you'll need to find a partner," the instructor shouts before everyone scrambles to find a friend.
"Oh Liv," I hear my name being called before seeing Christina.
I wave as she smiles and walks over to me.
"Hey Christina."
"Wow, I didn't know you went to this gym," she says and I force a small smile because this is not my first time seeing her in this gym.
"Oh!" I mumble.
I decide to leave her last comment alone, because I know exactly why she hasn't noticed me in the gym.
"How long have you been coming?" She asks and I wish she would stop.
"Ummm... I guess a few months." I answer as the instructor starts to explain.
"We can be partners for this one," she tells me and I shrug.
The other two times I've seen her in this gym, she always seems to have a partner. And it's not a female. In fact, he's a gorgeous man that definitely isn't her husband.
And judging by the smiles, they appear to be good friends.
The whistle blows and the activity begins as I lightly punch the pads she has on her hands.
"I guess I have you to thank for bringing me back to the gym," she says and I'm confused.
"Me?" I ask.
"Ever since Spencer quit his coaching position with the Giants and got hired as the Jets new head coach, he's been away from home more. He says he has to get acclimated or whatever." She answers with air quotes to emphasize her disapproval.
"I mean, he's working. He's happy. He told me himself that he already feels the camaraderie with this organization. So is that a bad thing?" I counter and she rolls her eyes as we switch and it's her turn to punch the pads on my hand.
