The Pumpkin Man

Once Upon a Time, a girl called Betty, who had red hair, green eyes, fair skin with beatiful freckles. One day Betty was coming back from school with her friends, Tommy, that was a blonde boy who had chocolate brown eyes and his skin was so fair it looked he'd never been in the sun before but despite that, he was muscular and could hurt anyone who annoyed him, Kelly, a black girl with lime green eyes,  and has light brown hair, she was charming, and George, a shy but kind boy, was thin, wore white circular glasses, his hair was brown, his eyes blue, and he always wore a blue shirt with the number 404 on it. Then Kelly just stopped in front of a dark forest and said:

"Guys I think... I just heard someone calling for help, in there."

Tommy got a little scared but didn't show it, and like always, was the first to react, saying:

"Are you sure? That's the Mysterious Forest, people said that a monster lives in there."

Betty without thinking twice, went into the woods and didn't stop when she heard her friends screaming, all she heard was:

"Betty... don't go!.....wai......someo.....behin...."

Then everything turned into a blur. She had woken up in the heart of the forest, with a man covered in a straw, his first reaction was to scream and then grope his pockets looking for his cell phone and soon he found it, and turning on the flash, he saw a hideous scarecrow, with torn, old and dirty clothes. All around him had a lot of dead bodies and pumpkins with candles inside. Betty got so scared that she started to cry, when suddenly a deep voice mumbled.

"You don't need to be here, little girl."

And she didn't stay there anymore, she got up and started running. Betty could no longer hear the voice, nor the birds in the forest, nor the candles burning. After she passed the big old tree of peace, the sunlight shone again, and she only stopped running because she had found a small stream, and some animals that lived there. Betty sat on the edge of the stream and observed the area around her, it was beautiful, with small fish of different sizes and colors, some bunnies approaches the girl shyly, and she just reached out and gently caressed them. Finally, the girl relaxed and felt her body heavy with sleep, but she was afraid to sleep in tha place, after all, any animal could appear there, both aggressive and affectionate. And squinting, she felt something vibrate in his pocket, her cell phone was receiving a call, and when she turned it on, she saw 13 missed calls from her mother and more than 30 missed calls from her friend Kelly, she hadn't even noticed the time pass, because the clock said 17:14, and she left school at 12:35. Betty thought about returning to her mother, but before starting that plan, she noticed that the signal was out.

A sound of heavy footsteps approaching the stream it made Betty shiver, the animals all fled from there, the skies darkened, the ground slowly vibrated, the frightened girl sat behind a bush and watched a figure emerge from the trees. It was Tommy, the boy had walked through the forest looking for her, he had his shorts torn and dirty with mud, his shirt was wrinkled and half wet, and his hair was completely messed up. Betty feeling great relief in her heart, came out from behind the bush and hugged Tommy, who in turn was scared but when he noticed it was the girl, he returned the hug ever stronger saying.

"Where were you? I've been looking for you for an hour and a half!"

"I woke up in a strange place with dead bodies and a scarecrow..."

"This is madness..."

"I swear to you I don't...Look!"

Soon she took out her cell phone and showed him the recording.

 "But why did you record this?"

"I wasn't filling it very well...So I started recording to turn on the flash"

He nodded in understanding, and then with a little fear said:

"Then take me to this place"

She shivered, and then back to recording, she held Tommy's hand tightly and started walking through the trees. The owner of the chocolate eyes rolled his eyes over Betty's clothes, which were smeared with dirt and a little dusty, getting a little embarrassed and averted his eyes to the forest around her. They arrived in front of the tree of peace, and faced each other with fear of what was to come, so they decided to go without looking back, and so they did, entering that forest that was now very dark, instead of birds they were crows, in instead of crickets and other animals, it was howling bears and wolves. That area had a very negative aura. And after a few minutes walking, they arrived at a hole full of corpses:

"See! I told you!"

Tommy was trying to say something but his voice wouldn't come out, and with a lot of effort, he said it with his voice shaky.

"Where is the scarecrow you recorded..?"

Then Betty pointed her cell phone's camera light at where the scarecrow should have been, and there was nothing but a lone, old, broken cable.
