The cab pulled up against the curb, I payed they man generously as Andy got out the vehicle to collect our bags from the trunk. Getting out the cab, I took my suitcase off of Andy and pulled it along with me to the entrance.
"Shouldn't we go find a hotel first?" Andy breathed heavily.
"No"
"No?"
"I want to keep our options open" I kept my head held high as I took long strides towards the front desk.
A tall lanky woman sat with an earpiece and golden curly hair at the front desk, as noticing me approach she sent me a bright New Yorkers smile in my direction.
"Good afternoon and welcome to Wilson industries, how may I help you today?"
I quietly cleared my throat in order to sound posh to give me the image of a 'good upbringing' otherwise this was never going to work.
"Hello, I'm here to see my father Matthew Wilson, you see it's my first time here since I just got back from a gap year with my friend Andy here" I politely gestured to Andy as she gave a shy wave. " So if you could just point me to his floor I'll be on my way to surprise him, I'm Colette Wilson by the way" I grinned.
"Oh! Of course Miss Wilson! Your fathers floor is number 23 the very top, is there anything else I can get you?"
A fucking acting degree
"No, that's all thank you."

"I'm not so sure about this..." Andy nervously played with her hair. We were outside of Matthews office, patiently waiting for his secretary to allow us to go in since he's on an 'important business call' blah blah blah.
"I mean what are you gonna say?" Andy stressed, fiddling with the ends of her hair.
"I don't know, I was just gonna wing it" I said as I stared blankly at the wall, "wing it! Fucking wing it! I knew coming here was a bad ide-" Andy's sentence was cut short when Matthew's secretary walked in. "Mr. Wilson is available now, go on in whenever your ready" she grinned, smiling gently towards her, I slowly made my way to the office. Pushing open the door, my eyes laid on someone I've not seen in over 15 years. "Colette" he breathed, his tall broad figure standing abruptly, his blonde washed out hair was replaced with light grey sweeping the sides of his head, and his crystal blue eyes shined with a unrecognisable emotion. "Hey" I shyly waved. He began walking over to me in a fast motion and engulfed me in his arms. "I'm so sorry, I never meant to hurt you, please forgive me, I love you so much, I never meant to leave you" his voice muffed against my hair. I awkwardly patted his back, "it's cool, I missed you too" I was never good with emotions, I don't know whether I'm lying or not, I definitely don't forgive him, but I'm not exactly sure if I missed him. "Where are you staying?" He questioned "um we've not exactly booked a hotel yet.." I nervously played with the sleeve on my jumper. "We've?" He raised an eyebrow, "yeah, my friend Andy came here with me." I smiled.
"Well you'll both have to stay with me and my fiancé and her two children, you'll meet Jessica today and Ryan tomorrow, when he comes back from Australia" Matthew had this big grin plastered on his face as his loving eyes roamed around my face.
"Thank you so much, Dad."
