Chapter 2
{Liam's POV}
I didn't know what else to do, so I jumped in and swam after her. I saw her turn the corner and go further underwater. I dived underwater and kept swimming towards her.
{Lily's POV}
I kept swimming until I found my little part of cave that is hard for humans to find, unless you practically point it out to them. I laid down and covered myself with kelp. All the sudden I heard a crunch. I froze. I didn't get up, that way my tail isn't visible. I watched the opening to the cave carefully and watched as a head popped into my view. My eyes widened as I saw Liam staring at me in disbelief. Was my tail showing? Oh yeah. Most landwellers can't hold their breathe this long. I stared as Liam suddenly fell unconsious and started sinking to the bottom of the cave. I grabbed him and swam to the surface. I took him to where the other boy was standing and layed him onto the sand. "Why don't you watch Liam next time?" I yelled at him. "I'm sorry, he jumped before I could grab him." He said. I sighed and broke eye contact. "Well watch him next time." I stated before turning around. "Could you please meet us here tomorrow at 8 am? That way Liam can thank you for saving him before we never meet again." he begged. I gave in and nodded. "Just make sure he doesnt touch me, okay?" I ask. He nods, confused and I leave him with Liam.
I went back to my cave and started thinking about tomorrow. Maybe I could meet them again, and show Liam all the sea life.

I woke up to the clear ocean waters. I swam out of my cave and around the corner where the boys were already waiting. I swam up to Liam and smiled. "You ready to get in the water?" I asked. "I can't swim." he said bluntly. "Well then how did you follow me? You could've drowned!" I yelled back. Liam just stood there with his eyes wide open, staring just behind me. I turned around and saw a shark fin. "Relax! It's just a soupfin or something like that. Great Whites don't usually come around the shore." I boasted. The shark jumped out of the water and I saw what type of shark it was. I screamed when I realized what it was. "Plan B! On the other hand, Bullsharks are pretty vicious!" I yelled. I couldnt go onto land, and I was trapped. I let myself sink to the bottom and wait to see what happens. The shark started heading towards me and I swam backwards.. right into a rock. I saw red ripple through the water. I'm bleeding! The shark swam closer and closer to me, looking hungry. He obviously smelled my blood. I punched him in the nose once he was within arm length. He thrashed around wildly and I tried to scream, but couldn't. He turned around and swam to deeper waters. I started to see spots, and a few seconds later I blacked out.
{Liam's POV}
I saw the water quickly turn red and screamed. There were tears streaming down my face, because this was my fault. She would have noticed it if she weren't yelling at me over something dumb I did. I saw the shark dart into deeper water, and dissapear. I ran into the water and felt around for Lily. I felt her arm and pulled her onto the shore. I looked at her feet, and saw fins. What? Her tail was a baby blue, which went nicely with her purple-pink hair. Even though I was in shock, I helped her. I wrapped my arms around her to try and keep her warm.
Her head was bleeding a bit and her lips were slightly parted. Even going through all of that, she still looked beautiful.
I layed her onto the sand and looked to see if she was breathing. Her breathes were slow and shallow. So thats not a good sign. I held her nose closed and blew into her mouth. I repeated the process until I felt something that broke my heart. Her breathing stopped. "Lily?" I asked, shaking her. "LILY?!?" I screamed, frantically pushing on her chest. Now, I'll admit, I don't know what to do if her heart stops. But she's already dead, so why not try? I saw tears splatter onto her chest. Wait, maybe I have to get her in the water. I dragged her into the water, splashing water on her face. When that didn't work, I held her head underwater. Suddenly, I felt her flinch. I looked down and saw lots of bubbles, so I'm guessing she was screaming. She flew upright and looked at me, water streaming down her face. I'm not sure whether she was crying, or if was water falling from her hair. "Oh gosh, what happened? Why are you near me?" she rambled. "You-u-u, were knocked out, and I tried to wake you up. But your heart stopped beating. Then, I put you underwater and you woke up." I stuttered. "WHAT?!? You're lying to me. I can't come back to life." she argued. "I mean, I was surprised too. Do you think I make people come back to life everyday?" I reasoned. "Y-y-ou'd be freaking out right now if that were true." she squeaked. "Well, I'm telling the truth." I sighed. "Right, I'm sorry." she sympathetically smiled. "Well, I better be swimming. BYE!" she panicked, swimming into open water. "Lily, wait! Please! I won't hurt you!" I yelled after her. She turned around and slowly started making her way towards me. "Fine, I guess I'll stay." she hesitated. I held my hand out, and grinned when I felt the warmth of her hand replace the feeling of the cooler air.
