The Begger

"We are finally here, Uzume." I say as I pull into my parking spot.

Uzume, Akitsu, Haruhime and Yahan are in the car with me. Kazehana decided to follow my car back to the apartment. I get out of my car and notice someone sitting by the elevator. The man has tattered clothes, and a slightly dirty appearance. I had seen the man a few times, he was homeless as far as I could tell.

"Excuse me ma'am can you spare any change?" He says as he looks up at me.

He seems to be in his mid to late thirties. Despite being a little dirty and unshaven, if he cleans himself up a little bit he could be quite an attractive person. I dig into my pockets and pull out 300 yen. I handed them to the man as his eyes grew wide.

"Thank you very much young lady. You are a kind soul. I don't really have much to thank you for your generosity, but let me at least offer you some advice." I didn't believe the man could offer any valuable information I wasn't aware of, but I decided to indulge him nonetheless. "Get out of the city while you still can."

I didn't understand this man's motives. Why would he be telling me to get out of the city? I was about to ask him why when he continued." There's been some weird shit going on lately. I have seen loads of cute girls with weapons and superpowers fightin' each other all over the city."

This man knew about the Sekirei Plan, he had seen those girls in action. I wondered for a brief moment why Minaka had neglected to silence him. I shrugged mentally, nobody would believe a dirty homeless man. I didn't want to let him discover my involvement, or that I knew what he was talking about, especially considering the secrecy of it all.

In the end, I decided to act like I had no idea what he was talking about to protect both him and myself. "Girls with super powers? That's nonsense, people don't have super powers. That kind of thing only happens in comics and cartoons, not real life."

"Naah! I'm telling you I've seen them!" The man says as he continues rambling on." It all started about… three weeks ago. I was just minding my own business trying to scrounge up enough money to get some dinner, when I saw a girl fall from the sky. She was one of the prettiest things I've ever seen. She was wearing some kind of martial arts get up, with brown hair and matching eyes. But the thing that made her stand out the most was her chest, it was huge."

The man stops for a moment with a slight look of lust in his eyes. He was probably lusting after the girl he described which sounded quite a bit like Number Eighty-eight.

The man continued with his story after regaining his composure, "she was being chased by two other girls. They had dark hair and were wearing some kind of SM gear, they were also shooting lightning from their fingertips. Since then I've been seeing them all aro- …"

The man stops talking abruptly as his expression turns into one of pure terror. "It's… It's… It's one of them! One of the weird super-powered girls!"

I turn to the direction that he is now pointing to my girls standing on the curbside by my car. I also noticed Kazehana coming up behind them.

Has he seen one of my girls before I winged them? Has he seen Kazehana use her abilities?"

"Stay away from the girl in the purple! I saw her being attacked by them lightning bitches, she was keeping them at bay with typhoon force winds."

The man grabs my hand and tries to lead me away from Kazehana. I pull away as I say," I ummm… I have to pack a few things before I leave the city. But I will heed your warning!" I lie, knowing full well that Minaka would never let his precious players leave the city.

The man seems to believe me, and then he runs away yelling curses at Kazehana. I turn to my girls," today has been an adventure. "

I walk into the elevator followed by my girls, although I did wonder about that homeless man. Granted no one would really believe his tale about superpowered girls running around the city for various reasons. But it still gave me pause and made me think. Had other people seen things they shouldn't have?
