Time passed quickly and before Eivor knew it, September had passed and Halloween was coming up.
Her usual spot in the Great Hall was at the end of the Slytherin table close to the High Table where the teachers sat. Daphne had been sitting with Draco and Pansy since their disagreement, but Eivor did not mind.
Better alone then pretending to be somebody else, she thought to herself.
Besides, she wasn't exactly alone. Almost every meal, her raven came to visit though the opening in the ceiling where the owls usually flew through.
Synin would nibble a bit at Eivors toast before taking off again. Most people had gotten used to it, but some still couldn't stop staring at the raven perched on Eivors shoulder.
The bird would sit there as often as possible, landing on Eivor in between classes and during meals. She seemed to have taken a liking to Hagrid too. Synin liked to fly to his seat at lunch, beg for a crumb of food before returning to Eivor.
Hagrid laughed his booming laugh every time it happened.
Harry and Hermione had started coming over to her table when they would finish their lunch, often bringing Ron and sometimes Neville, who had to overcome his fear of Professor Snape to get near the Slytherin table.
Most of the Gryffindors started getting less hostile towards the little first year, especially after Fred and George declared that Eivor was their favorite Slytherin.
No one wanted to mess with the twins.

Luna and Eivor were walking together from History of Magic to the Great Hall.
"I hope they have dancing skeletons tonight", Luna mentioned dreamily, her earrings dancing around her head.
She was wearing earrings that she had made out of black beads and a piece of silver string. Eivor had asked if she could make her a pair too, and Luna had been thrilled by her request.
"Can skeletons do that?", Eivor wondered. Luna smiled secretively.
"We'll see." Eivor could not wait for Halloween to come, and she was not the only one.
"You know...i never really celebrated halloween before...what's it like?"
"You'll love it, i promise. Most things are pumpkin themed, and scary story telling, and other fun stuff" Luna replied, and Eivor nodded.
"I celebrate something similar to halloween but not the actual holiday."
"What do you celebrate?"
"Well i have two different celebrations actually i call the Blots. The Alfablot and the Disablot."
"What are those?"
"The Alfablot is the sacrifice for the elves as the name indicates. In Norse mythology, we have the world "Alfheim" where the elves lived when "heim" means "home" then "alf" means "elf". So the Alfablot is indeed a sacrifice from the Norse men to the elves. The celebration would take place at the end of the autumn when the leaves started the fall and the harvest finally came to an end."
"Oh, so like halloween?"
"Yeah, kinda"
"And the Disablot?"
"The Disablot was celebrated in the public and observed by many people. The ceremony was carried out and led by the woman or mother. The Disablot was to dedicated to the disir. The word "Dis" means "lady" and the "disir" is the plural form. The celebration happened during the Winter Nights which were known as the vetrnætr which means "three days prior to the winter". Luna nodded.
