She finished her breakfast and stood up to wash the dishes while listening to her favourite music in the morning , but someone from behind cleared his throat interrupting her from her daily routine
She left the plates and turned to see the source of the voice
"It's 8:30 I think I'm not in time again"
"Oh no it's alright Mr. Hudson, please have a sear. I-I wanted to apologise for yesterday i guess i over reacted, i don't have to believe to rumors like you said you didn't hurt me so I'm not afraid of you anymore .."
Hudson was listening to his dove with smirk but once she said she isn't afraid , he raised his eyebrows at her, he thought it was just getting more interesting to him so he decided to play with her a bit
"You're not afraid of me anymore? Is it true my little dove ?" He asked seriously making her shiver
"I .." and before she says anything he took long steps towards her making her shrink back as a normal reaction
"Why did you step back, am I making you nervous ?"
Her face suddenly turned red as he caged her between the wall and his board and strong chest
He noticed this and it somehow satisfied his dominant character, he got closer to her
"Your face is so red ! Are you tired today or maybe you have a fever?" He asked with fake concern, He knows why exactly it was red but to tease her more he moved his hands to touch his cheeks as if he was trying to measure her temperature
She on the other hand was trying to control her heartbeats, she was sure he can hear it from how strong it was and how close he was .. She couldn't find a way out of this embarrassment so she just leaned on his chest hiding her red cheeks
She heard his chuckles when she did that, and it wasn't helping her at all , they stayed like this for a while
"Alright I'll forgive you on yesterday but only on one condition" she looked up at him with her big innocent doe eyes, that he was suddenly lost in
He cleared his throat again to control himself and looked away from her.But, she thought she did something wrong when he did that, little did she know how she affected the king with just one glance
"I want to have an exclusive experience here, something only for me that you never did with anyone before" his pervert and egoistic self said
"A-a new recipe ?" She was confused
"Good try actually, but no"
"Emmm, do you wanna help me cook?"
"il tuo innocente mi sta uccidendo" He said and made her lead the way to her kitchen .
Translate: your innocent is killing me
Once they entered he was surprised form how vintage and warm it was
"Do you like the vintage style ?" He asked , he was amazed from how her kitchen too leaves a great impact on him, everything about her was affecting him and he considered this dangerous
"It belonged to my grandmother , she's the one who taught me how to cook and bake .. y-you don't like it ?"
"No no i love it it's cozy"
"Yes i think it's cozy too ! i wanted to repair somethings in it but never dared to change anything, it's just perfect in its own way"
He was deep in his thoughts after what she said, he just felt nostalgia back to his childhood when his mother used to tell him that everyone is perfect in his own unique way
It's like she just woke his inner child, that he did his best all these years to hide
"Alright, let's bake i promise you feel just better after this .. it's like the magical cure for anything in life ! But first here you're your apron" She said with excitement. He took of his jacket and rolled the sleeves of his shirt making his muscles more abroad with his veiny arms
"Let me help you .." she swiftly helped him wearing it and after she was sure it fit him she wore hers and they started making chocolate cake together , he told her it was his favourite
1 cup (142g) flour
1 cup (200g) sugar
6 Tbsp (35g) cocoa powder, plus more for dusting pan
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
6 oz semi-sweet chocolate
3/4 cup heavy cream
"Now whisk dry ingredients together .. flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt and I'll mix the wet ingredients; buttermilk, oil, vanilla and eggs . You have to whisk mixture until very well blended it'll take about 1-2 minutes"
He started mixing it haphazardly , he could do anything but he never tried baking before
"No no you can't do this , you have to mix it in the same direction and don't do it with hate and quickly like if it's a task you need to finish,my grandmother told me that as the dough breathes it also feel so you have to make it with love and take your time appreciating your work with it,only then it will pay you back with unforgettable flavour consider this as our last and secret ingredient "
After explaining this to him she held his hands in hers to mentor his way
Cupid on the other side of the window was perfectly aiming his arrow
She noticed how close she was to him and suddenly left his hands making him, feel lost and her , feel cold after she let go of his warm hands
"I-I will continue.."
After mixing all the ingredients perfectly she started to bake it like her granny taught her and put her lovely and fresh baked cake in the oven
"Now let's make chocolate ganache frosting , she said as if it was her favourite part of all this"
She placed finely chopped chocolate in a medium heat proof bowl and heat heavy cream in a small saucepan over stovetop on medium heat too until it was just simmering thrn poured hot cream over chocolate and stirred it with a rubber spatula until it melted smoothly she let it cool for a while until it had thicker consistency
The cake was ready too now she just let it cool for a while before spreading the ganache frosting over it making it drowns in this fascinating sea of chocolate
The smell of the baking and sweet vanilla and chocolate flavour were filling the air
She then gave Hudson a slice and put a slice on her plate as well, they now were sitting on the small table in the kitchen with the cake in the middle between them she also made her favourite drink beside the cake which was mint tea
She was sitting in her chair waiting for his reaction, he finally took his first bite taking enough time to taste all these flavours that went along perfectly he opened his eyes to see she was already watching him
She quickly looked down at her plate apologising in soft tone
"It's perfect "
"You liked it ?"
"I'm your loyal customer from now on, my love"
Her eyes widened from the nickname he gave her and digged on her plate to distract herself form getting red again but she couldn't help it
"Don't hide from me, love"
She surrendered and looked at him when he left her chin slowly to make her look at him but suddenly the coldest days of January turned to be the hottest day in August when he wiped the chocolate from the corner of her lips and kissing her on the same spot
