I got a call from Sadie yesterday, i wanted to answer but Jake told me not to, i hesitated but hung up.
I hadn't talked with Sadie for a while now, she tried to contact me but Jake always said i shouldn't respond, so i didn't.
I missed her.
I had one last way to try to find Sadie, without Jake noticing.
I could go to that one place we agreed on. I knew where it was, and with the new house i could walk to there.
So that's what i did, i got changed and headed outside. Once i got there i had the surprise to see Sadie sitting there, petting her dog.
I said nothing, instead i headed to where she was sitting, and sat next to her. She got startled at first, but then relaxed.
-Where have you been, Millie?- She asked softly, you could tell she was sad. It was weird hearing her call me something that wasn't the nickname she gave me.
-I'm sorry.- I said, tears already forming in my eyes.
-It's just that.. Jake.- I said, hoping she understood what i meant.
-Why are you still with him Millie.. He is abusive, toxic and rude, why?-
-I.. I don't want to be alone. One day you will leave Sadie, i know it. My family doesn't really care about what i do anymore, the only person i have left is Ava, who i bet will leave some day too.- I was crying now, trying to hide it with my shirt.
-Millie.. No. I will be there for you, always.-
-You promise me?-
-I promise.-
I hugged her, still sobbing a bit, she hugged me back, her hugs were always soft, warm and nice hugs, not like Jake's, who were always forced, cold and unwanted.
