(This was as far into the book as I got before I ended up stopping. I hope this ending intrigues you because all you've read, and the continuation of this chapter, plus even more to come, all in Tales of the Oracli, a comic series coming soon!)

"Go on then. Spill." X spits viciously.

A gives an empathetic nod towards The Butterfly, the world around them dissolving as they listened and waited with bated breath.

"This was never about Lilly and Ashley. Your muses remain at the centre of the hurricane, but by no means are they the reason any of this is happening." The Butterfly states in an 'I'm smarter than you' kind of fashion.

"Then why did all of this start with their capture? Why is that the thing that set off this journey of ours?" N inquired.

"Because they needed a distraction, you were coming close to accidentally discovering the truth about everything."

"Truth about what?" Z growled, he was growing impatient by now.

"Yeah, and who the hell are 'they'? If you want to get out of here alive you'd better start talking." X roared, A giving him a pat on the shoulder to calm him.

"Every person and obstacle you've faced thus far since leaving the temple for the first time, Z and X, was orchestrated. They've been training you for a future in which they will use you to take over the universe, and create a New Order, one in which they remain at the top." The Butterfly growls in return.

"Who are they. And how do we know we can believe you." N replied to this.

"You can believe me because I've known for several hundred millennia now. It's the reason I don't align with them, the reason you all and I went our separate ways in our youth. After my creation, I was made to look into a tear in space-time, which to this day gives me visions of the future, this is how I've stayed ahead of you all these years," The Butterfly began to rant, "The first thing I saw after my eyes burnt with the fires of time was the universe in flames. Amok with chaos and rampant with control. They use you to gain access to the universe."

"We're nobodies puppets." A growls.

"You are. There's nothing you can truly do about it. They know everything there is to know about each and every one of you. I know it's against your code. But you need to kill them."

"You know we won't do that. Even if we could, they're stronger than us in every single way. We would be decimated." N reasoned.

Each and every one of them felt a cold wind blow clean through them as the morning breeze flowed in through the window.

"I know you're wondering, and yes, I am on your side. I know we have this whole, hero vs villain dynamic, but I've grown to genuinely care for you all. I enjoy the challenge you give me, and the challenges I can seem to give you in return. It gives me a reason to be in a universe in which I don't think I ordinarily would. I guess in a way you saved my life too, Oracli." The Butterfly admitted through gritted teeth. Her eyes were flush with fresh tears.

The faces of The Oracli warped into the saddened faces of those who have finally realised the truth. Their minds rolled over the concept of this new threat.

N pulled The Butterfly from her place on the ground and to her feet, embracing her in a tight hug.

"So what do we do," Z announced after a considerable silence.

"Well, there's no way we can just stroll into the temple and kill them. They created us, they're so much stronger than us in every way." The Butterfly announced, breaking free from N's embrace.

"We need a plan." N replied to this.
