Dear Diary,
I have finally settled down in my new apartment, everything is kind of in a chaotic state but as time goes on the more things will settle down. Seattle is a very nice city as I have done some exploring for some jobs even though my parents have sent me with quite a bit of money, but I still need some form of income. Being an adult sucks but all of this will get better with time...hopefully,
-Nate

Today was the first day of classes, I am officially starting the first day of my first semester of my first year. This is a lot of the first time in one go which is absolutely insane, I got quite nervous and left for my class around 35 minutes early. The campus was big so it was a good idea to leave early for class, probably not as early as I left but it is what it is. My first class was some gen ed class, some English class, definitely can not wait to write all these papers...not-
I walked up to the building where the class was and found the room number to the class, I looked at the syllabus at the room number and back at the number on the wall before walking into the classroom. Now as I was walking around some people took the good seats by the door and towards the back of the room. But sitting in the middle of the room wasn't too bad, so I decided to sit towards the wall in the middle rows. A few chairs away from me, a guy was sitting in the same row as me. I couldn't help but to blush a bit as he was attractive to me but I didn't look for too long as I started pulling out my notebook, a pencil and my laptop out of my bag. I looked at the clock as I waited for class to start which was close to the time of the start of the class as the professor walked in and closed the door behind him. Everyone seemed to have their attention on him as he started to get his things organized for class, once he was settled down he looked at the clock. Clearing his throat he spoke, "Good morning class, welcome to English class or better known as Introduction to Academic writing. Or for short English 103. I will be your professor, I go by Dr Wells or Professor Wells." He spoke with a strong voice.

The voice matched with his face as he had a slim face with a long brown beard with some grey highlights through it. He stood tall and confident as he spoke, he has been doing this for some time and he was showing it. "Today for the first day of class, we will be doing some icebreakers and going over the syllabus. Any questions so far?" Wells asked as he looked around to see if anyone raised their hand, we sat in silence for a few seconds before moving on. All of the information in the syllabus was quite a lot of information but now here comes the dreadful part, speaking in front of the class to tell a bit about yourself to everyone. Dr. Wells put the syllabus down on the table in front of him before looking up at the class with a soft grin, "Now let's go around the room and tell everyone a bit about ourselves. Let's start with the people in the back row and work our way down." He explained, the people in the back started introducing themselves. I started getting sweaty and shaky as it started getting closer to my row of people. Then silence fell over me before I opened my mouth "I-I'm Nathaniel Apolyos, and I'm majoring in photography and film production." I breathed out as I messed with my fingers underneath the table. All the eyes on me just heightened the anxiety even more. But once I was done, all the eyes moved towards the guy next to me.

"Hey! I'm Matthias Blackwood, I'm currently undecided." He introduced himself with so much confidence. Once everyone went around the room, Professor Wells just moved onto himself and more things to expect during the class. Time couldn't go by any faster, my anxiety stayed around for the rest of the class.

I sighed when I walked out of my last class of the day, I had some free time to walk around campus if I really wanted to, maybe the anxiety will go away with a good walk. I looked at the time and saw it was almost two in the afternoon, the weather was almost perfect so I started walking around campus. I should try making at least one friend and I will call it a day. Campus was active today as I looked around for some people who were sitting alone so I could just kind of introduce myself without stopping them. Then something caught my eyes, I stopped in my tracks and saw a girl with cotton candy pink hair sitting in the grass with her laptop out. A sigh left my lips as I mentally gave myself the courage to talk to her. I walked my way over to her and she looked up at me, "Can I help you?" she questioned, her accent was one of the things I was drawn to as it was unfamiliar. I smiled awkwardly, "You looked a bit lonely, so I was wondering if you would like someone to talk to." I tried to speak in a confident tone.

She looked at me for a moment before giving a signal for me to sit down, "Might as well," I sat down on the ground next to her and held my hand out. "I'm Nathaniel Apolyos, or Nate for short. It is nice to meet you." I smiled as she shook my hand in return. "I'm Anna Martin, nice to meet you too Nate." She smiled in return as she looked back at the laptop that was in her lap with a look I could not read. A few minutes of silence fell over us before she looked back at me, "So where are ya from Nate?" the accent was still new to me, I looked at her back. "Savannah Georgia, you?" "New Orleans." I nodded and smiled, "So- this state is a completely new experience for us both, huh?" she questioned which I nodded. We ended up talking for almost an hour before she slowly stood up with a groan, "Oh god! My ass hurts!," she stretched and held out her hand, I took her hand to get up. I did not know my ass was in this much pain until I stood up.

Anna threw her book bag over her shoulder and looked at the time on her phone, "Want to go to the dining hall to get some dinner, friend?" she asked which I smiled and nodded. "Of course I shall, my new friend name Anna," I offered my arm to her for her to hook her arm with me. Then we were off to the dining hall, the walk was full of laughs and giggles. We were standing in line to get our food when I noticed him, the pretty boy named Matthias. Soon Anna noticed I was staring at someone, "Who are you looking at?" she looked in the direction I was looking towards. I looked at her with a small smile, "It's no one," I mumbled before looking away and back at the food that was in front of us. I could see her in the corner of my eye with a look of questioning but she eventually dropped the look as we got out food.

She looked at me with a grin, "So Nathaniel Apolyos, tell me more about yourself."
