"I'm glad you're coming to the party after all." Jack says and hugs you. You let him into your apartment. Vinnie appears behind him.

He also takes you in his arms. "She only does that on one condition. You know the one."

"You didn't have to agree. You just want me to go celebrate with you."

Vinnie has you a few days ago once again annoyed to come to a party. But since you are often hit on by some strange guys you decided some time ago not to go to a party anymore. You made a condition. One of the guys should pretend that you are together. Since Jack accepted that you didn't want to go partying with him, he made it clear that Vinnie would have to play the boyfriend. Vinnie agreed and added: "As a challenge, let's pretend we're married."

You looked at him with wide eyes. Did he really just suggest that? Sure, you've been best friends for a long time, so it's no problem to play a married couple. So you agreed as you are.

So there you are, standing in your apartment. Ready to go to the club.

You put on your high heels. You wear a tight dress that perfectly hugs your curves.

"Shall we go?" You ask in the round. "Yeah, sure." Jack answers while Vinnie nods.

You make a shooing motion with your hand. "Then let's get out of my apartment."

You leave the apartment. You lock the door behind you and put the key in your small bag.

"Give me the key. I'll put it away." Vinnie holds his hand out in your direction.

"Why? I have my bag." "Yeah, but it's easy to get picked." Your questioning look turns into a are you kidding me look.

"Come on, now. I have to take care of my wife." You take your keys out of your pocket again and hand them to him. "Here you go, dearest."

Vinnie blushes slightly at this pet name.

Jack smirks. "If you were really a couple, you'd be like an old married couple bitching at each other all the way through."

"That's not true at all. I love my husband." You say and hug Vinnie's arm.

He looks down at you with a raised eyebrow.

You detach yourself from him again. "So, are we going to get going or are we going to have the party outside my apartment today?"

"Let's go. Finally we can celebrate with you again." Jack is happy and runs off with you. Vinnie stops. You look behind you.

"We are married, aren't we? Couples hold hands. So..." he says and holds out his hand to you.

"We don't have to pretend to be married yet. We're not even in the club." "But we have to get into our roles first." Vinnie walks the few steps you have already taken towards you. Still with his hand outstretched, he takes yours in his.

You roll your eyes and together you start walking.

As you stand in line you notice a guy in front of you turning to stare at you the whole time.

You release your hand from Vinnie's and put your arm around Vinnie's waist. So you can snuggle up to him. Vinnie puts his arm around your shoulder and pulls you close. His other arm wraps around your lower back and you bury your head against his chest.

Vinnie plays his role amazingly well as he presses a kiss to the top of your head and whispers softly: "What's wrong? Are you not feeling well?"

You mumble into his chest: "There's this guy staring at me all the time. I should have stayed home."
