Chapter 6 - Is this how you make friends?

(This is a prequel chapter btw! Like when Melody was a kid and stuff.. So, enjoy!)

The way the sun shines in the snow, the smell of the trees, it's what fills my heart with love! Well, almost. There's things that I love way more, of course! Like my family! And the people from my hometown, Snowpoint City! Which brings me back to what im doing right now: walking with dad! Today I went on a walk with dad to Acuity Lakefront! It was a nice walk. But, on our way back, we saw a crowd all together in a circle looking at something. So me and dad decided to go see what was going on. But what we saw, made my heart skip a beat. I saw a boy, around my age, kneeling down with blood
dripping out of his nose, and streaming down his neck and face. Along with another kid, definitely older than me, standing very tall over the other boy; and screaming at him with his fists clenched and close to his chest. Some people were laughing, some people were screaming at them to stop and threatening to tell their parents, and some who were cheering "Fight!" over and over again. My dad, as the brave man he is, pushes the crowd out of the way, and tells the kid to stop.

"Well, what are you gonna do about it?!" The kid says confidently.
"I'll tell your parents about this, that's what i'll do!"
"Fine! Then tell my parents! Like I care!"
My dad was brought aback after that one. I mean, what kid would have the nerve to say that to an adult? And right when my dad was about to get physical, the kids parents come running, screaming at their disobedient child.
"Ryan! How could you do something like this? You are coming home and not leaving until you tell me what made you do something so terrible!" She then grabs his hand and proceeded to apologize to the hurt boy, a bunch of times. And soon after, the crowd was long gone. There was no more entertainment for them anymore, so they left. But, the boy was still there, so of course I went to see if he was okay. Honestly, poor boy. How could someone do something so terrible? What could this hurt kid have done so wrong to deserve that?

The boy had black hair with red strands all across his hair, and teal coloured eyes.
"Are you okay?" I asked him.
He slowly turned to me with the most dead and blank stare I have ever seen. He just kept staring at me with dead eyes and no emotion shown whatsoever.
I just proceeded to ask him: " What's your name?"
He continued to look at me for a few seconds, then turned his head and looked straight down to the ground.
"Shadow."
My eyes lit and I let out a smile.
"Cool! My names Melody!"

And that's how it began.

This is about 2 years later from meeting Shadow. A few months, ago we met a girl around our age named Lisa, and we are now friends with her!

Me and Lisa always have to save Shadow from bullies. People always pick on him for some reason. Calling him 'evil' or 'a curse'. And I never really understood why? Shadow never told us why they call him that. Even after we tell them to stop, they just come back saying: "He's a curse! Everytime we pick on him, we get a terrible endless nightmare!" It's strange, but we usually ignore it.
Speaking of nightmares, I get these dreams a few times a week where I hear a cracking noise or a glass shattering noise while I feel exhausted and weak, but then I wake up feeling just fine! It makes no sense, but there's nothing I can do about it now.

Today, me, Shadow, and Lisa went to a small cafe in Snowpoint City that we go to once in a while! We had our usual hot chocolates with whipped cream and a small cookie on top! These are the best hot chocolates ever! And definitely taste great for the cold snowy weather outside. There's never a warm day in Snowpoint City. It's always full of snow and cold weather, no matter what.
"Well, what shall we do now?" Lisa asks.
Lisa has always been one to talk in a fancy tone. Not british or anything.. Just.... Fancy...
"I have an idea." Shadow tells us. "We should go take a walk to Acuity Lakefront."
"That's a fantastic idea Shadow! What do you think Melody?" Lisa awaits for my approval.
"Yeah, that's sounds great! Let's do it!" I say excitedly.
We decided to head off right away to not waste any time.
When we finally got to Acuity Lakefront, we were just enjoying the beautiful view of the small singular ray of sunlight shimmering against the water. You would think that this freezing weather would freeze the water, but it never has. There's a myth that the water is magic; since it never freezes no matter the weather. You can even see Magikarp and Barboach in the water!

"So, quick question. What do you two think you wanna do when your older?" I ask them.
"Why do you ask?" Lisa questions me.
"Well I just want to know, since you know.... We're not gonna stay here in Snowpoint City forever."
"Well, I would like to go around other places in Sinnoh and learn about natural foods. I've always been interested in that kind of stuff."
"That's cool! And you, Shadow?"
"Hmm.... I guess I could go around exploring other places. To discover more pokémon." Shadow explains.
"That sounds great!" I tell him.

Lisa asks me: "And you Melody? What seems to peek your interest?"
"Well... I dunno... I guess someday I could go on a journey, but i'll know when im ready."

"Well that sounds fantastic, Melody."

Silence lingers in the area for a good few seconds, before I say: "Well, I guess we should head back home now. The snow seems to be getting more aggressive."

"Yeah, let's go."

(Yayay new chapter!! 😍😍  Sorry for the lack of posting and inactivity :(( Im gonna try to start posting chapters more often to actually develop the story haha
