"(Y/N), I grabbed your chai like you asked"

"Mm, thank you Shiro"

Nagi walked up to you and placed the venti iced chai latte on the side of your white overhang desk, making sure to place it a good distance away so the condensation wouldn't ruin the papers you were currently writing on.

"How was the operation? I was scared when you didn't text back this morning like you said"

This time, he was much closer when he spoke. His voice has gotten much deeper over the years, so much it even surprised you from time to time whenever he decided to speak out of nowhere.

He placed his chin on your shoulder, leaning into you so he could see what you were writing.

"More strategies? You're getting proper sleep right? Sleep is important (Y/N). You don't need me to start staying overnight again, do you?"

Ever since you discovered their dreams of winning the World Cup together all those years ago, you started learning more about football from Reo and you couldn't stop trying to find ways to make them better players. Battle tactics, special moves, physical enhancement training, and many other methods were drilled into your skull by your own will, determined to make their dream come true. You got so obsessed at one point that Nagi had to stay overnight at the hospital to make you stop working.

"You would end up hogging all the space, you giant. No thank you"

Back when you were kids, both of you could easily fit into a bed, but now, it was close to impossible.

"Then I'll just make them put another bed in here, your room is big enough for it"

"You'd just end up with me anyways, you know it"

"Not my fault that you're comfortable"

"Oh please, don't you remember how scared you were to move the wholeeeeee night because you were afraid you would detach my IVs? And since you're even bigger now, the likelihood of that happening is higher, dummy"

"Oh shut up. Also you didn't answer my question"

"What question?"

"Your operation" Nagi sighed. Of course you only heard the comment about your tea. Stupid workaholic.

"Oh. It went fine. I'm not dead, am I?"

"Stop with the jokes already. If you keep talking about death and stuff, someone's gonna call you a 'pick me'"

You glanced at him with your eyebrows dipped.

"Huh? Where'd you even learn what that meant?"

"Reo"

"Of course, my bad"

His head left your shoulder and went over to his book bag on the ground. He opened the flap and pulled out a piece of paper.

"Reo and I got this in the mail the other day. It's about some 'special player training program'. Here, look" He walked over to you and held it out.

"Yeah, Reo told me"

'Oh. So that's why she was working so hard' Nagi sighed.

"You know, you haven't looked at me at all since I got here"

"Have too"

"Once"

"Cry about it"

"Wha-"

Before he could speak, a hand flew to his chest, a stack of stapled papers shoved between them.

"Here, give Reo his copy when you see him, yours is under it"
