Kuni is coming next chapter ;,) this one was already so long so I decided to put him later.

Also, does it bother you guys that I switch POV's a bunch? I do it to put focus on different aspects of certain interactions, but I understand if it gets annoying.

——————————————————————

You had offered to walk the boys back to the player area yourself, but apparently they weren't having it. Instead, Reo called Karla and asked for her to walk them, to the older woman's delight and thanks. The (y/n) protection squad was getting bigger by the day, and while you loved the principle, you hated the dumb restrictions. Karla was close to putting you back into a wheelchair again, but that would only stunt your progress, so she decided on a simple rule that you couldn't leave the staff area and had to get permission and a second person if you ever needed to. You technically weren't a manager yet, just an advisor of some sort, so physical interaction with the players wasn't necessary.

Before they both left though, you pulled Reo to the side and asked Chigiri to wait outside with Karla. You still had a big question for him.

"What is it, angel?"

"I want to know what happened that made you and Nagi separate"

Because of the incident, you never got the chance to ask, and that was one of the main reasons you came to him in the first place with Chigiri. Whatever it was, you wanted to know.

Reo moved over to the wall and leaned on it with his arms crossed. "I have a better grasp on it now, but he wants to play with Isagi to get stronger". You could hear his voice put emphasis on Isagi's name, so he probably blames him for Nagi leaving. "Apparently staying with me would just hold 'im back... or something"

He angles his head down to look at the white floor. "I just...don't understand why we can't grow together. We promised you, we'd win the world cup together, didn't we?"

"Well, I can tell you one thing, Nagi hasn't forgot one bit. Actually, I think that's why he went with Isagi in the first place"

"What?"

"Reo, he wants to win the world cup more than ever, and in order to do that, he needs to evolve as a player. Playing with the same person over and over, you eventually learn everything about them, and nothing inspires you anymore. I've seen it many times when I watch you guys practice" You walked over to stand right in front of him and fold your arms over your chest. "Nagi knows this, and when he saw Isagi in y'all's match, he was inspired to go even higher than what you gave him"

"You sayin' I'm boring, angel?" Reo smirked and cocked his head.

You returned the look."Maybe I am, Mr. Mikage"

"Damn...didn't expect you to actually say it.."

"Oh hush. Nagi want's the same for you, y'know. To get stronger without him."

Reo sighed and looked off to the side like he was thinking about something. He was trying to listen to you but...

'She's so close...'

"Reo..? Hey, did you even hear me?"

"Ugh. whatever. "

Reo turned his head back towards you, but this time, you swore his face was way redder. Before you could question him, he grabbed your waist with his right hand and pulled you into his chest, his face looking down at you, only a few inches away. His other hand gently held up your chin to meet his eyes. Now it was your turn to blush.

"As long as you're here with me, I don't need anyone else. When I get better, it's going to be for you, not anyone else."

Talking now would only result in utter embarrassment for you, because what the FUCK was that?! Despite your mouth staying closed, your eyes were telling a whole new story, a flustered mess of one at that. And Reo was reading alllll up in it.
