Kai called out to D.O. and the rest of the mob to approach the gloomy castle.

As they chopped down a large tree to ram the doors with, Kai plotted how he would kill the Beast. He is, after all, the best huntsman in town...so surely he could kill the animal. His best friend reminded him to take extra precaution and gave him a small blade to hide away in his boot.

Inside, the servants of the manor were preparing for the onslaught.

"I've fought before!" Mino declared. "And we will fight to protect this castle, and our master! Arm yourselves and gather in front of the doorway! It's the only entrance!"

Ten sighed, wishing that he had time to take advantage of his lover that seemed so fierce, but went off to gather some form of weaponry and summon the guards from the upper floors.

Jennie raced towards the castle with her father, riding in the very coach which had returned her father to the village.

"I hope we get there in time" she said nervously.

"My dearest, we must. That mob only has one thing on its mind...bloodshed."

The doorway to the castle gave with a loud crack. Kai pushed open the doors, peering inside an entryway that appeared to be full of inanimate objects. He motioned for D.O.  and the mob members to follow him in.

As the group was just inside, the objects sprang to life and began the attack, with Mino at the lead, burning everyone in sight.

Ten had taken knives from the kitchen and was twirling them dangerously, attempting to cut anyone who neared the stairwell.

Sana had filled herself with boiling water and was inflicting burns, while commanding the kitchen staff.

Jisoo and Lisa were distracting the group, with yelling and dusting their faces.

Upstairs, Chaeyoung heard the battle, but could only stare forlornly at the wilting rose, which now only held two petals.

When the last of those petals fell, she would remain a beast forever...and what life is this? She thought. A life cursed as a monster, a life without Jennie...a life without love...let them come for me, then this will all be over.

Seemingly reflecting her thoughts, a petal from the bud broke off and fell. Chaeyoung chuckled internally. The rose agrees, she thought, dark humor getting to her. She stared out the window, waiting.

Kai entered chaeyoung's bedroom, and saw the Beast gazing out towards the forest. Armed with his bow and arrow, he settled the arrow and pulled the string taunt.

The beast turned to face him, sad brown eyes not registering the giant. She turned back towards the wood as he released the arrow.

It hit her in the back and she released a painful howl, as Kai tackled her, pushing her through the thick panes of the window and out into the rain. The pair landed on the balcony, and he kicked her, commanding her to get up and fight with each blow.

"Get up, you useless beast! Get up and fight! What's the matter beast? Too kind and gentle to fight me back?"

Chaeyoung groaned and stared at the ground as she thought. No. Not too kind or gentle...too heartbroken.

Kai broke off a piece of stonework to create a makeshift club and was just about to bludgeon the beast with it when-

Jennie saw the pair, and leaped out of the carriage and raced towards the castle.

"No! Chaeng!" she called out, racing through the courtyard. I hope I'm not too late...

On her balcony,  Chaeyoung's ears perked up when she heard her name. "Jennie?" she said. It couldn't have been her...why would she come back?
