The car ride down to Holmes Chapel was quiet except for the music playing for the radio. Niall had fallen asleep shortly after we left the house so I didn’t have anyone to talk to except myself and that’s weird so I just sang along to the radio at times to keep myself awake. About an hour outside of Holmes Chapel I stopped at a gas station to fill up and get a snack. I shook Ni awake to see if he wanted anything but he said no and curled up more into my sweatshirt he had on. So I quickly ran in grabbed a snack and we started on our journey again. We started talking about stuff and at one point I looked at him and when I turned my head back to face the road I had to slam on my breaks flinging Niall forward. I reached my arm over to keep him from flying forward as quickly as I could. I took a few deep breaths to steady my breathing and look over at Ni. He looked startled and I don’t blame him. I quickly said I was sorry and as soon as I took my arm away I looked up in my rear view mirror. Right before I had time to process anything the car slammed into the back of my car and sent Niall into the dashboard. He banged his head hard causing it to gash open and blood was oozing out of it.
I was terrified at that point. He quickly became unconscious after that. I bolted out of the car and went to his side pulling him out of the car and laying him in the back seat. I found a towel in the trunk and put it over Ni’s head to try and stop the bleeding. The entire time I was freaking out and quickly called my mum knowing an ambulance was on its way.
“Hello?” My mum answered the phone finally.
“Mum me and Ni just got into a accident and…” I didn’t have time to answer as we both we flew to the floor of my car. My body on top of Niall’s holding the towel in place as best as I could. I could faintly hear my mum shouting my name and the ambulances in the distance. I don’t remember much after that as I slowly started to black out.
