Dwayne's POV
A blinding light woke me up from my slumber. The white curtains in my room were blocking the sunlight from totally hitting my face. My bed was obviously beside the huge window in my room which was the upper facade of our house.
"It seems to be a warm day for me." I muttered lazily in my bed voice. Its not that I wanted to skip school but I really felt fuzzy and warm. It's like the bed was pulling me to sleep again. Yeah, school.. School.
"Wth. Why didn't I hear my alarm clock? Ugh, I'm gonna be late." I frantically panicked in my head. I looked at my friggin' alarm clock on the nightstand only to found out that it was already 7 in the friggin' morning.
Grabbing my towel in a hanger, I quickly got up from bed and went to the bathroom for a really quick shower. After a minute, I put on my uniform, the upper was a pink long sleeve covered by a grey vest and the lower was just a simple grey slacks matching the vest.
I took the stairs down, slightly putting a force on each steps telling them especially my mother that I was upset that she didn't woke me up. I stormed off in the kitchen.
"Mom, why didn't you woke me up?" I whined which made her turned to me.
"I did it on purpose, sweetie. I know you are tired of what happened yesterday so I decided to let you sleep. Besides, today was just the second day of school. I don't want you to be stressed, okay?" She walked towards me, smilingly rubbed my shoulders. I think I made her very worried and I couldn't help but flashed a smile. That's why I loved her so much. Her each smile sents happiness to me. I couldn't imagine a life any better than the one I had with mom and Rex beside me.
"I'm feeling well and very strong, mom." I said pulling up my sleeves, emphasizing my partially muscled biceps. At least, that made her laugh.
Since the school was a walking distance, I sprinted off neglecting the noise from the passing cars.
I arrived at school about 5 minutes late. But I could say I was lucky when I entered our classroom without our adviser in her designated desk. Means, class didn't started yet. Phew, thank God.
"So, did you sleep yesterday? I bet you didn't. You know, probably spending the night jumping to bed and shrieking to no end." Mai stated chuckling. I chuckled back, placing my backpack in my seat.
"Funny! Actually, I forgot to do that yesterday." I countered full of sarcasm.
"Well anyway, what about your 'weird attraction' to literature? I forgot to ask you yesterday." She asked cupping her cheeks with both of her hands, resting her ankles on the armchair of her seat. Yeah, the literary club.
"I would try my luck this afternoon. Hoping that I won't be rejected." I responsed, copying her position.
"I'm sure you could easily passed whatsoever tests they would gave to you. You're great and amazing." Mai turned her head to my direction, giving her sweet smile. The figure of her safe and sound from yesterday got me smiling. I'm thankful that I got to have a friend like her. She's so warmth to be with.
"That's so nice to hear, Mai. I could've kissed you if I happened to be a straight as a ruler." I said jokingly, giving back a genuine smile.
"But unfortunately, some rulers do bend, duh! Could say those rulers were discreets." She countered, ending our conversation in a laughing mess, before our adviser sashayed in front.
