Chapter 5

Tatiana Louvre's Point of View

There didn't seem any way of avoiding this life. This is what I thought when I saw myself sitting beside my mother while a man named Severus Vitelli was sitting across from me.

The moment I entered the VIP room, my mother gave me a disapproving look. Alam kong hindi niya nagustuhan ang sinuot ko para sa event na ito. But the Vitellis looked like they didn't mind.

The room was heavy with outspoken words, which made me unsettled in my seat even when the food arrived. Pasimple ako tumingin sa lalaking katapat ko.

This man is wearing a dark suit and a tie. Nakabukas ang unahang butones at ang tie naman na suot niya ay maluwag. He let it loose and low. His hair is brushed on the side while some of his strand is covering half of his forehead. Hindi naman halata, pero mukhang hindi niya pinaghandaan ang pagpunta niya dito. Sinuot niya lang ang unang nahawakan ng kamay niya.

He even kept a poker face the entire time. And whenever he's speaking, he keeps a straight face. Ni isang beses ay hindi siya tumingin sa gawi ko. He is acting as if I am invisible.

Oh god, sino naman ang mag-aakala na makikita ko siya dito ngayon? Something cold and ghastly began to spread in my chest. My boyfriend of four years just broke up with me, and the man who I spent my outrageous night with is eating in front of me. Tell me this is not happening.

It made me lightheaded. Kahit ang pagkain na nasa harapan ko ay hindi ko magawang bawasan. I think I will throw up if I put food in my mouth.

I couldn't explain what was happening to me right now. There is a shame in my body as if someone had heated my blood.

"What?" He mouthed at me. No sound came from his mouth, only the moving of his lips.

"Back off," I mouthed back. I don't want him catching me off guard. I need to fight back.

"Is the food not to your liking, young lady?" The old Vitelli said. Nakatingin na pala siya sa akin at doon ko lang napagtanto na masyado akong nakatuon sa lalaking nasa unahan ko. My cheeks turned a deeper shade of crimson when all of their eyes are on me. Even Utah, my brother, gave me a side eye.

"Pwede naman tayong umorder ng bago." The old Vitelli added. Petter Vitelli, which I hope I caught his name right, is my father's friend back in the University. They still maintain a good business relationship until today. He's giving me a warm feeling but I shouldn't trust that. Dahil alam ko kung sino pa ang mabait tingnan sa unang tingin ay sila pa ang mahirap magalit.

"No need, Sir. Gusto ko naman po ang mga pagkain." Nakangiti na sabi ko sa kanya. I heard my father cleared his throat.

Alastair Louvre only cares about perfection and power. No wonder he is willing to give his daughter to this silly arranged marriage. It's just so funny that this superclass thinks they are important and socially aware because of the money they have accumulated throughout the years. They treat people as business, not human beings.

"So," my mother interjected, clasping both of her hands and making her voice sound excited, "When is the wedding?"

Napalingon ako sa kanya. She doesn't even make it so subtle!

"It's better if it's soonest. I will like it when my boy has finally someone in my life." Peter said to my mother. I didn't mean to scoff. Pero nang marinig ko ang sinabi ni Peter na "my boy" ay bigla akong natawa nang mahina. Is he a daddy's boy? All eyes are on me again. Kahit ang lalaking nasa harapan ko ay pinagtaasan ako ng kilay.

He has disconcerting eyes, giving me a signal of aloofness and bitterness. Tiningnan niya ako sa paraan na nagtatanong kung ano ang nakakatawa.

"Why? Is it hard for him to have someone in his life? Does he have relationship problems?" I showed a teasing smile. Siniko naman ako ng aking ulirang ina sa aking tagiliran na mukhang nagtatanong kung ano ang balak kong gawin.
