Chapter 1
Severus Vitelli's Point of View
"Good day, gentlemen. This is your captain speaking, and we've arrived at our destination. Welcome to Skylark International Airport. Local time is 13:00 o'clock with a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius." I let out a deep sigh. What am I even doing here?
"For your safety and comfort, please remain seated with your seat belt fastened." Dagdag ko pa. I know that they are listening. If they don't, then whatever. The plane is now ready to descend on land. I opened the flaps and slats of the plane to take a landing speed as low as possible and, of course, to make the plane look bigger to catch more winds. Next are the airbrakes that smooth the airflow over the wings. When it is slower, the lower the plane goes. Now, this is the moment to finally bring down the landing gear, and the plane is already slow enough to land on the runway.
"Well, guess we cheated death one more time, gentlemen," I mumbled when I was sure that I arrived safely in the country.
"What a hassle." A groan came out from Alexander Coben III. It's been so long since I've known Alexander, and whenever we are together, he always stood out the most. All because he has an unusual hair color. Whatever that smart ass is saying, for me it's white. No arguments.
"Grabe! Nakakangalay talaga umupo ng ilang oras. I think I just wasted my time just to be there." I heard Nikos Stanislaski mumbled while we're walking side by side. And I couldn't agree for more.
I'm with the gang. When I say the gang, the six of us is present. I'm the only one who can operate it. What can I say? I'm the captain.
"Should we just get local clients? Para hindi na tayo umalis ng bansa." Rinig kong sabi ni Raven Salazar at napahawak na lang sa kanyang sentido.
"Well, having international clients is more profitable, so no, we have to really accommodate them." We've just arrived at the airport, and it looks like he's catching up on another schedule. What could I say to a man like Kalev, he's busy as fuck.
The gang and I established a business. We are not just a group of guys hanging out together; we are business partners. So if one decides to fuck up, we are doomed. All of us are aware of our responsibility.
"We should get our late lunch. My skinny will be mad at me if I skip my meal." Lahat ay napatingin kay Alexander. I heard everyone groan in disbelief.
"Really, Alexander? Flexing that you're happily in a relationship?"
"What can I say? I am a sucker for her." That's too bad. But Alexander seemed like it was a good thing.
Thirty minutes later, we're now at the restaurant ordering our late lunch. The plan is that after eating our meal, we will go home. Kalev is married to his long-time crush, Marsh Lahm. Alexander is dating Elizabeth Stanislaski, who happens to be Nikos and Kalev's cousin. Nikos Stanislaski, on the other hand, is dating Reeve Lowell. I didn't know much about her, but she seemed nice. Trevor is dating another Stanislaski, too. And Raven? He becomes mature enough to admit that he's falling in love with his long-time friend. And me? Pwede bang tumawa na lang? Well, at least I'm content with what I have right now. Me and my profession.
