"Ah.. I see. So you're a foreigner who happens to also be a traveler?"

"Yes sir"

"And you happened to stumble on the news of what was going on here.."

"Mhm...."

"And you plan to help fight these shadow monsters as well?"

"Mhm Mhm Mhm..."

In the end, Lydia couldn't tell him the full truth. She just stated that she was a traveler who happens to be learning magic and when she got the news of what was happening here, she had to try and help.

No way was she going to say that she was from a different timeline and that an extremely powerful Egyptian god came for her aid and in the end brought her here and she practically became a warrior goddess.

Goodness knows how he would react..

a) Laugh at her thinking that she was basically telling a joke or..

b) The poor old man would have a heart attack or a stroke or maybe both if he puts two and two together and immediately seeing that there is a goddess in right in front of him.

The poor won't take it. Though he was flabbergasted when he found out that she can do magic. Meaning that she had taken care of the shadow monster that attacked yesterday.

When she returned back to the man, he welcomed her to his home saying that she could stay as long as she liked. At first, she was hesitant but he was more than happy to welcome her in after all, she did give him hope and the strength to move on.

Right now, they were outside his home sitting on the porch as they enjoyed the morning day together. Beau was enjoying some hay given to him by the old man, while both of the beings continues their discussion.

The old man sighs.

"Well it seems that the gods did answer our prayers by sending you. Perhaps with your magic, there could be a great change in the catastrophe we are facing right now."

'You have no idea..'

Lydia smiles and faces her front.

"If that's how you see it, I'm flattered sir. For thinking that.."

"Hmm.. I'm glad. But I still worry. This task is dangerous. As you are to know, the Pharaoh has lost some of his priests while fighting these monsters.. now things have been difficult in taking them down. They are not as strong as they well before..but we will appreciate them for even trying despite that the odds maybe against them."

Lydia faces him with a frown. The Pharaoh is really trying his best. Well all she can do is assist him from afar. She didn't feel bold enough to be in front of a King... Strange enough she didn't feel such a way when she was in the presence of a deity. Oh well.

"Say..how rude of me.. I never got your name my dear.."

Lydia laughs... "It's okay sir. I never introduced myself to begin with. My name is Lydia. It's nice to meet you.."

But what she saw from the man's face was not what she was expecting. Instead of a smile...she saw tears of sadness. Beau notices this and immediately stops eating. Yes, Beau just met the man yesterday but he had taken a liking to him. Lydia panics.

"S..sir! Are you alright? Did I say something wrong?!"

The man sighs as he wipes his tears and gives her weak sad smile. " It's alright my dear... It's just.. I had a daughter named Lydia.. she was my last born, about your age.. before I lost her.. You even have the same eyes and hair..just the skin texture is a little different."
