[Chapter Fifteen — A Garden Spat]

It didn't take long for classes to end as the group enthusiastically gathered in the forest behind the school building.
"Waaah!! There are so many chestnuts all over the place! It's a forest full of them! It's like an all-you-can-eat chestnut buffet!" Grim exclaimed, "Let's get to picking now- OW!!"
As he was speaking, Grim picked a chestnut off a tree, but he was pricked by the chestnut spines, causing him to shriek in pain. Y/N walked to Grim and took his paw, carefully inspecting it, and she carefully pulled it out.
"I don't think we can do this with our bare hands. We need something to grab them with, as well as to hold them in." Deuce said.
Ace agreed, saying, "The Botanical Garden has whatever we need inside." And with that, they started their journey deeper into the forest.

Later on, they finally enter the Botanical Garden. As they entered its Temperate zone, they were astonished as they all looked around in pure amazement as saw different varieties of flowers and trees around them.
The whole Botanical Garden was filled with various plants, and a clear pathway was large enough to walk in. The walls and rooftop were made of glass which let in the sunlight.
"Look at this place. It's huge!" Ace commented in pure awestruck.
'There are so many plants in here... They're all rather pretty.' Y/N looks around in awe, 'It's nice to see different plants here other than wisteria...'
"If it's this large as it is, there's got to be a groundskeeper somewhere. Let's split up and look around." Deuce told the rest, "We're bound to find something."
"Deuce and I will head this way." Ace said, gesturing towards the right path, "You guys take a left."
The female and her feline companion nodded as the two pairs split up. When they all went in their separate ways, Y/N couldn't help but look around, feeling mesmerized by all the plants, flowers, and trees.
"Maybe I should grow some flowers and plants outside of Ramshackle Dorm. What do you think, Grim?" She asked her companion.
"Eh, be sure to plant some tasty fruits also!" Grim said before he spotted something, "Hey, look at this! Like this bunch of fruits! They smell so good!!"
"They do." The female agreed, "But we're not here to pick any, so don't-" As she was talking, Y/N took another step and accidentally stepped on something.
"Ouch!"
Y/N stepped off and looked down to see a tail, 'It's a tail...' She thought confusingly as she stared at it.
"Oi. You've got some nerve stepping on someone's tail without saying anything." A male spoke up before he tiredly stood up, towering over them.
The irritated-looking male had tan skin and long brunette hair. What interested Y/N the most was the lion ears on top of his head, along with a lion tail that she accidentally stepped on.
The female's gaze then shifted toward the yellow armband he had.
'Savanaclaw.'
"A groundskeeper shouldn't be talking to students that way. You should do a better job at it!" Grim said.
The male narrowed his eyes and grumbled, "I was right in the middle of a nice nap, then you go and walk all over my tail. This sucks..."
'Then don't sleep on the floor...' The female thought but didn't want to say it aloud for fear of offending the male even more.
"I apologize... I wasn't watching where I was going." Y/N apologetically said while the male was suspiciously eyeing her figure from head to toe.
"You. Aren't you the herbivore that the mirror said can't use magic?" He said before he leaned forward and started sniffing the female, making the female lean back uncomfortably.
"...Ha. So it's true, you don't smell any magic!" The male finally said.
'No scent of magic but just the smell of butterflies and flowers, especially wisteria...'
"It's no fun taking on a helpless opponent, especially if you can't even use magic, but I, Leona, can't just let you walk away after stepping on my tail. I had such a lovely nap, and now I'm pissed." He threatens while stepping closer.
Y/N narrowed her eyes as she placed a hand on the handle of her sword in case he tried to do something.
"W-What's his deal?..." Grim nervously questioned as he hid behind Y/N's legs.
"I'm not sure..." The female mumbles as she glares at the male.
Before anything could happen, a loud voice suddenly interrupted.
"Leona-san!!"
Leona groaned, clearly annoyed by the owner of the voice, as he turned around to see a male running towards him.
"There you are. It's time for your remedial lessons, y'know." The male has dark blonde hair with big hyena ears on his head and a thin tail.
"Ughh... The annoying one's here." Leona grumbled.
The male beside him pouted, "Well, you keep failing Leona-san!! You've already had to repeat one year. If you keep this up again, we're going to be classmates."
This cause Leona to groan and grumble again. "Knock it off already. I don't need lectures from you, Ruggie." He spat while Ruggie scowled at him.
"I don't enjoy nagging you! You would have no problem if you tried. Whatever, let's go!" Ruggie scolded him.
Leona turns around the face Y/N and Grim, tsking at them, "Tsk... Watch out next time you come onto my turf, herbivores." He threatens them before Ruggie drags him away.
After they left, Y/N let out a sigh of relief which she didn't know she had been holding the entire time.
"I don't really like the sound of that! What's up with that guy?! He's a total psycho!!" Grim said.
"Well... all we know is that he is no groundskeeper. But he is for sure from Savanaclaw..." Y/N said.
'I really want to touch his ears but he seems a little hostile...'
"HEY, GUYS! WE A BASKET AND TONGS OVER THERE!" They heard Ace yelling loudly from afar.
"Come on. Grim, let's go. Let's forget about what happened for now..." Y/N told Grim, who agreed as they walked in Ace's direction.
