Season 2 episode 5: are you a good witch or a bad witch?

"Hey... Freaking out. I said I'd meet you. Where are you?... seriously? Look, I can't keep finding excuses to leave school." Bloom pulls the phone away from her ear.

"He's not coming." The light magic fades and the solarium army reveals itself as well as Rosalind and I. We walk up to bloom.

"What did he say?"

"We'll work something out. I think he knows what we're up to."

"It wouldn't surprise me. Bavani is convinced he's got spies everywhere."

"I trust every soldier here." Silva joins us

"Six more fairies drained. In six different regions of solaria."

"Do you think he's stalling?" I ask

"Every day he's out in the world, he's gathering strength. With more blood witches. More magic. He'll be stronger than me soon"

"Then maybe we should be doing the same. I know there's me and bloom to fight him but what about everyone else. He could have other blood witches that are taking fairy magic that they can use against us. We can't risk them killing fairies when they do attack. It'll be on his terms not ours. We need to prepare for an ambush."

I spent the rest of my day training with the specialists making sure we're all on top of our game. Musa joined us in the afternoon for a while, Riven and I gave her a bit of training, she picks it up really quick she has a lot of potential.

Now I'm walking to the cemetery with bloom to meet Rosalind. When we get there she's carving Andreas' headstone. I can hardly bare to look at it after what I did to him. I drop my gaze to my shoes when she writes 'father'.

"It's a beautiful stone." Bloom breaks the silence, stepping closer than I dare.

"It just arrived. From a quarry in Eraklyon near where he grew up. It's simple but 'miserable, sentimental fuckwit' wouldn't fit. He would've thought that was funny." It's strange to see her express an emotion, even if it's in a slightly odd way, good to know she still has emotions though I suppose.

"You really cared about him."

"You seem surprised."

"I guess I just thought you'd have a Rosalind-style outlook on death. Something cold and unemotional."

"You'd think. I've buried a lot of friends in my life. I can get over deaths that serve a greater purpose, but something like this?" I feel her gaze linger on me before resting on the stone

"It's just shit."

"I'm so sorry Rosalind I'm sorry I wasn't better, I couldn't think of what else to do—"

"Don't. I don't blame you Nyx. This wasn't your fault. It was the blood witches. You made the call any soldier would have. We need soldiers. Now more than ever." She rests a hand on my shoulder before dropping it when I nod slightly.

"If you wanna skip training this morning—"

"No. I need you both in top form. Sebastian has already taken one person I care about. I won't let him take any more." She guides bloom and I away from the cemetery.

Later, Bloom, Musa and I walk into the suite to see the rest of the girls rolling up the rug and rearranging the furniture.
