Goodbye Love

That look in your eye, has me thinking,

That there's more than you care to answer.

I'm patient, but I can't wait forever,

I wish to reach out to touch you, to be your lover.

I yearn to send my fingers through your soul,

Smooth out the cracks to help make you whole.

Your lips call to mine,

It takes all I have not to answer.

I'd love to make you warm on those cold winter nights,

To pull you close, to hold you tight.

Yet there you go, off into the sunset,

Leaving me here with desire never to be met.

I feel kinda empty inside,

Spending all that time wishing you were mine.

In my dreams, I touch your skin,

In my dreams.

The only place we will ever be seen.

Goodbye I whisper to your fading form,

Only to last as love in a heart always wanting more.
