war had been the ultimate destroyer ; of weak marriages and the safety that had once been a given for those with pure blood
the Malfoy family in particular had their weak loyalty spotlighted , Narcissa's risk of maternal love only a temporary heal to immanent peril —— the multitude of crimes that had proceeded it now ready to be judged. it was the day of reckoning.
her husband and son had already been captured and the aurors were ruthless when it came to her desperate pleas. not for Lucius , but for Draco. it was her boy who had saved her ; who had put up a fight so admirable that she had managed to flee from the encircled manor. distressed and vulnerable , there was only one place she could go.
"Severus!" urgency laced soft tones , mirrored in the way her palm hammered on the door of the Church. "Severus — it's Narcissa — please let me in."
Severus stood up abruptly. the end of the war had destroyed many families. many of them without a house and food in the table.
it was pretty clear that someone was bothering him late — with a sweet voice, the thunder didn't let him hear the name out of that beautiful mouth — he went to open the door with his hair tied back, a black shirt and black pijama pants clothing his body. it was raining softly, but a big thunderstorm ecoated in the living room, the light going down.
he was expecting to see Narcissa Malfoy in his door, looking vulnerable, even with her wet clothes. "N-narcissa...?"the rain was soft , but enough to drench inappropriate clothes , a simple repelling spell forgotten amidst all of the chaos.
when the door opened , there was a slither of relief , emotional mochas rising to a face she knew well. too well."I know it's late , I hate to intrude..." desperation shone through , gaze meeting his. "but please , let me in... they have Lucius and —" a sob was caught in her throat. "Draco."
