The first few days of being a maid for Lady Dimitrescu weren't hard, just tiring. You got up at 7:00 am every morning to help prepare breakfast for Lady Dimitrescu and her three daughters. Kali told you their names were Cassandra, Bela, and Daniela.

You didn't really talk to anyone in the castle besides Kali, most of the other maids would just ignore you if you tried to converse with them and Lady Dimitrescu was far too intimidating to even try to have a conversation with.

You swiftly made your way into the kitchen, frantically throwing your messy hair up into a bun. It was a rule that if you were in the kitchen you had to keep your hair tied up even if you weren't the one cooking.

"Y/n, late again for the second time in a row!" the old woman you saw the first day you arrived at the castle yelled at you.

"I'm sorry!" you about started crying, not because you were overwhelmed or anything but because you hated when older people would yell at you, old people scared you. "Give her a break Magda, she's new!" Kali burst through the doors, clean plates and wine glasses stacked in her hands.

The older woman immediately shut up as you helped Kali with the dishes in her hands. "Oh shit!" Kali gasped looking around the counter and then looking at you. "Y/n I'm gonna need you to do me a huge favor," she spoke fast.

"No need I got it." Magda hobbled over to you and Kali with a very pretty decorated wine bottle in her hand. "Nevermind Y/n, Magda you're a lifesaver, literally." Kali took the bottle and popped the top off, pouring the thick crimson liquid into a big wine glass that you assumed was Lady Dimitrescu's.

You watched Kali and Magda dish a few plates for your lady and her girls, feeling bad that you weren't helping, you asked "What can I do?" Magda and Kali glanced too each other with the same look before Kali pushed the wine glass into your hands. "You're on Dimitrescu duty today."

'What the hell does that mean.'

"Out the doors!" Magda shouted, clapping her hands loudly causing everyone to rush out the door. "Take that to the mistress." a random girl said in your ear as she walked by you.

You nodded and walked out the doors with Kali, she parted from you to hand out food to Lady Dimitrescu's daughters. You nervously walked over to the end of the table your mistress sat at. You shyly looked up at her, clearing your throat in attempt to get her attention, but it didn't work.

"M'lady." you tried again, she didn't look at you as she lowered her arm down next to you, allowing you to set the glass of wine carefully in her hand. Why wasn't she eating? Surely wine wasn't filling enough for breakfast.

You stepped back and watched as she brought the glass up to her lips, taking a long sip. "Staring isn't very polite." Lady Dimitrescu spoke loudly, the whole room's attention was now on you. "I-I'm sorry m'lady." you studdered, your cheeks immediately going red from embarrassment.

"Look she's blushing!" Daniela giggled, pointing a finger at you from across the table. You looked down slightly, the redness on your cheeks only increasing as Cassandra and Bela joined in on the giggling.

"Enough, daughters." your lady said sternly, raising her hand towards them, silencing their giggles.

You stood silently, not knowing if you had to be dismissed or not.

"You may go now."

"Thank you." you bowed and quickly walked back into the kitchen. "That was embarrassing not going to lie to you." Kali laughed, slapping your back aggressively. "Can you stop doing that!" you huffed smacking her hand away from you.

"Stop doing what?"

You walked away, deciding not to choose violence.

After everyone was done eating you helped Magda wash dirty dishes and clean up the kitchen, once you were done with that you moved on to cleaning the library.
