Icehearts tragedy

The attack.

The wind was breezing in the air, the cold breeze on my pelt made me think about how cold leafbare was. I was sitting in my den alone waiting for my apprentice to return with my herbs. He then walked in with a mouthful of herbs. "I'm sorry for the long wait, I saw a vole on the way and had to catch it!¨ Said Rainpaw his voice muffled with all of the herbs that were in his mouth. ¨It's alright! Just place the herbs on the shelf , then you can go rest.¨ I said calmly while helping him put the herbs on the shelf. The small apprentice placed the herbs carefully on the shelf, then went off to go to his den. I watched him walk off sleepily. It looked like he had a long day. Spottedstar quickly walked in with a worried look on her face. Her paws were shaking, she then started to speak. ¨Iceheart.. Amber claw had sent out a patrol with five cats. They came back dripping in blood. You need to help them. After you are done please come talk to me in my den. ¨She said with her voice shaking. I was completely shocked, I needed my apprentice to help me. I walked out of my den seeing the cats dripping in blood from head to paw. Their blood dripping onto the forest ground. They all looked distressed. I quickly padded over to the apprentice den and woke Rainpaw up. ¨Rain paw I need your help. Many cats are injured and I need your help. ¨ He stretched his front paws with a tired look on his face. He slowly got up and realized what was happening. He walked out of the den and saw the five cats in horrible pain.

We gathered the injured cats and brought them to the den. One of the warriors was horribly hurt. It was Wolfear. Wolfear was my mother. She had large gashes all over her body. I quickly grabbed herbs and so did my apprentice. I carefully placed the herbs on her wounds. I had realized she wasn't breathing too well. I panicked and snapped at my apprentice to grab some thyme and some bindweed. He quickly got up and ran over to the herb shelf and grabbed the things I had asked for. He carried them in his mouth and gently dropped them on to the ground. I quickly scooped them up and fed my mother the thyme and bindweed. She swallowed them but was struggling to even do that. We had helped heal the other cat's wounds and I had thanked my apprentice for doing an amazing job. He bowed his head and left to walk to his den. I kept my mother in the den and went to talk to Spotted star in her den where she told me to meet her. I walked over to her den with my head down low afraid it might be something bad. I walked into the den and sat on the mossy nest. I was looking around the den with anxiety flowing in my body. Then Spotted'star began to speak with a low tone ¨Ice'heart.. I am afraid to tell you the clan is in great danger. I met an enemy a while back. I thought I had killed them, but I was wrong. After the horrific battle, we headed back to the clan, but what I didn't know is..¨ She stopped her sentence afraid of how I would react. She started speaking again. ¨What I didn't know is that our great enemy was behind us spying on the clan. I had now figured out who injured your mother.¨ She paused for a moment and glanced down at the ground. I then spoke up and asked, ''Well who was it then? Just please hurry and tell me!" I said while it sounded a bit rude but it wasn't meant to. She hesitated and then began to speak ¨Well it was Nightfall..¨ "Nightfall? ¨ I said while stuttering in between letters. Nightfall was our deputy a few moons ago. He ended up getting exiled for feeding one of our blind elders death berries. I was mad and upset that he would do such a thing. Nightfall and my mother were great friends. That's why I was so shocked that he would attack my mother so badly.
