Icehearts tragedy

Its hard to say goodbye.

A couple heartbeats after, I heard a loud growl coming from the medicine den. I flattened my ears down, hoping it wasn't what I thought it was. I trotted over to the den as fast as I could. I saw a large dark shadow in the distance. I went through the small tunnel and couldn't believe what I saw. There was a skinny black and brown tortoiseshell cat standing over my Wolfear. It was Nightfall. Wolfear was drenched in blood, more than before. It dripped off of her spreading onto the ground. Nightfall's claws were covered in blood and clumps of my mother's fur.

¨Get away from her!¨ I howled while attacking the dark tom cat. I pinned him to the ground. My claws were inches away from his throat. He threw me up and spat ¨Wolfear is a terrible fighter. It was like kit's play to murder her!¨ He did a mrrow of laughter and ran off quickly into the trees. I was standing over my mother mourning her death. I sat by her with my head on her flank. My apprentice walked in and so did Spottedstar, and a few other warriors. They had heard the loud screeching and came running over. They saw Wolfears lifeless body, and instantly asked what had happened. I stayed quiet for a minute and then began to speak. ¨It was Nightfall, he killed Wolfear.¨ My apprentice came over and crouched next to me giving me a couple comforting licks. I guess I had fallen asleep, because when I had woken up by Rainpaw telling me it was time to bury Wolfear. I slowly got up with my legs trembling. I looked at my mother and saw her face. Her paws were covered in blood. It was hard for me to look at her, but I wanted to help bury her. My leader then spoke up "She will be buried in honor, She was a strong, loyal, independent warrior. She will be missed. " I then started to carry her and Rainpaw helped me. We dragged her body out of the medicine den. After a few seconds we saw many warriors staring in disbelief. They looked heartbroken. Many warriors loved Wolfear. Some cats gathered around and let them touch noses with her. A warrior named Amberclaw was the saddest out of all of the. . Wolfear was Amber claw's mentor, and they were great friends. Amberclaw also helped carry Wolfear. We dragged her out of the camp and found the spot to bury her. We dug a hole big enough to fit her body in it. We carefully placed her body in the hole and began to cover the hole in hard dark dirt. I gave Amberclaw a quick lick on the ear.

We went back to the camp with Rainpaw following a behind. We walked into the camp and Spottedstar greeted us. "I'm really sorry Iceheart, and Amberclaw. May star clan light her path." She walked off leaving us three standing there. I hurried off to my den feeling exhausted after the hard day I have had, and I just wanted to rest. I padded over to a small mossy nest and layed there looking around at my surroundings. I saw two other cats in the den with me. I had closed my eyes and started falling asleep when I heard Spotted star call for a meeting. I slowly got up seeing the two other cats in the den with me stretching and walking out of the den. I saw Amber claw on the rock next to spotted star, and she looked pretty happy. I saw a small kit I had seen before that had visited my den. It was River kit! River kit was looking as excited as ever. Her mother was grooming her as she sat by the rock. Then Spotted star had began to speak. "Riverkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it's time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Riverpaw." Riverpaw glanced up at Spottedstar with her eyes gleaming with joy. While Riverpaw was excited I glanced around looking at the cats beside me. I had saw Viperfang giving Amber claw a snarky look. Amber claw had seen him and looked worried. Her neck fur bristled. She quickly looked away glancing back down at River paw. "Riverpaw needs a mentor. Viperfang. Will you train Rivepaw, and teach her the same as you did with Dewpaw?" Dewpaw was Viper fang's old apprentice. But he had died a few moons ago from green cough. I glanced at Viper fang again seeing him touch noses with his apprentice,Rainpaw was Viper fangs daughter. he then stopped and glanced at Amber claw once again. "Meeting dismissed." Spottedstar spoke up. All the other cats began walking away to do their own things, and so did I. As I started walking away Spotted star then pulled me aside. "Iceheart, are you alright?" Spottedstar Said concerningly. "Yes, I'm alright." I quickly replied back. "Alright then." She walked off, and so did I. I was about to give rest in my den before I saw both Viperfang and Amberclaw leaving then camp.
