(AK'S POV)
I struggled to sleep the night before because I was too excited but eventually I got to sleep. When I woke up I made my bed for the last time at that place. I asked a worker when Lewis would be here to pick me up and they said he'd be here in the afternoon to take me home. I was extremely excited! I spent the day as usual. The two other kids that had gotten adopted were picked up before me and shortly after that, Lewis arrived.
One of the workers spoke to him while I was told to go grab my suitcase with my stuff. While I was grabbing my suitcase I said goodbye to Blake and Cindy and started tearing up, this is so far probably the worst part about getting adopted and going to my new home. At one point I'll find a way to contact them and then we could be friends again! Well, it's time to go back to the main room. I said one final goodbye to my friends and then I took my suitcase and went back to the main room where Lewis was waiting for me.
"Hello AK!" He said, smiling. He was sitting on a sofa and then he stood up, it made me realize just how tall he was. I think my head just about stopped at his shoulders, he was very tall. I slightly looked up and smiled back at him.
There were a few more things we did before we left. Lewis helped put my suitcase into his car and then we started the long drive home. I felt a little bad because he seemed to live quite far considering the time it took to get to his house. We made it eventually though! We got out of the car and I grabbed my suitcase while Lewis went to unlock the front door. I looked at his house and slightly frowned because it reminded me of my old home from before my parent died.
"Hey, is everything okay? I got the door open." Lewis asked, walking over to me.
"Oh! Yeah, I'm okay!" I said.
"Alright, Kiddo." Lewis gave me a pat on the head and then we entered the house.
Through the front door it was a hallway with doors on each side.
"Okay, so, I'll have to show you around the house but this door here on the left is your bedroom. You can decorate however you want once you get settled in, I can take you to the store to buy stuff like paint or decorations." Lewis said, opening the door. Inside was just a normal bedroom, the walls were white and there was a bed in the corner, a wardrobe against the wall, and a desk under the window on the left wall. I smiled and thanked Lewis.
He brought me around the house showing me the different rooms such as the kitchen and his bedroom and where they were located. Lewis told me the door across from my room was his work office and said if I needed him he would be in there most of the time. If not, he was either in the living room or his bedroom.
"Lewis, what do you do for work?" I asked.
"Well, AK, I'm a YouTuber!"
Oh my gosh. My new dad is a YouTuber!? Is… Is that why he looked so familiar to me?
I looked at him for a moment with the widest smile on my face.
"Really!? What is your channel name?"
He giggled and told me, "Dawko."
Dawko. Oh my gosh, that was one of 8-BitRyan's friends! Now I remember! Ryan plays with him and his other friends sometimes! Oh my gosh, this was so exciting! Dawko's my new dad!
"You're one of 8-BitRyan's friends, right? I hope I am remembering correctly because I remember him playing with you in videos mentioning you sometimes. Oh my gosh, you're also the guy that cried after beating FNAF 50/20 mode, aren't you!?"
"Yeah… that's me!"
I couldn't believe it, my new dad was one of my favorite YouTuber's best friends. And he was the guy that freaked out when he beat 50/20 mode.
I wondered… would I be able to meet Ryan at one point?I couldn't stop smiling! Ever since my parent had died, I hadn't been this happy and hadn't smiled this much in so long. I missed them so much, I started feeling slightly sad but I don't think my parent would want me to feel sad in this moment.
I held my arms out and wrapped them around Lewis, hugging him. He was quick to do the same and he gently lifted me off of the ground with his arms tightly wrapped around me. Part of me believed that maybe my parent in the afterlife had sent Lewis so that I wouldn't be sad anymore. I felt so safe around him and so loved even after only knowing him for less than a day in total, but I knew he would be such a great dad, I just knew. After a moment of hugging he put me down and we both let go.
"Are you hungry at all? I can make you something to eat if you'd like." He asked, as we walked towards the living room which was also the same area as the kitchen.
"Yeah, if that's okay!" I said.
"Of course it's okay, why would I say it's not? What would you like to eat?"
"Umm, I'm not sure. Maybe just some crumpets or something please."
"Of course! Do you want tea too? I can make you a cup of tea as well."
"Sure!"
Lewis put some crumpets into the toaster and filled a kettle with some water. I sat on the sofa, waiting for the stuff to be ready. After a few moments he brought over a plate of crumpets, placing it on the low table in front of the sofa before going back and grabbing two cups of tea. He placed them on the table.
"Be careful, the tea is hot. I don't want you to burn yourself." He said, taking a seat next to me.
Lewis grabbed a remote and turned the TV on, opening Netflix. He asked me what I wanted to watch but I was unsure so he found a random movie, made sure it was age appropriate, and put it on.
I'm watching a movie with Dawko, a famous YouTuber! How cool is that!?
I ate the crumpets and drank the tea, making sure I didn't burn myself. During the movie we talked more and he told me he would take me shopping tomorrow to buy things for my room! I was very excited! When the movie was over Lewis asked me if I wanted to watch another, I said yes but the day had tired me out and I ended up falling asleep in the middle of it.
It's okay! Today was the greatest day in quite a long time!
