It is said when someone leaves this world, they often take form of a star. So, when the shine in a person's eyes ends and the last bit of air leave their body, their soul takes the form of a pretty twinkling star. Is there where her father is, one among the trillions of glitering stars? Naya thought looking at the sparkling stars in the night sky, through her study room window. Light from the full moon came through the window brightening the dim lit room. The room was simple, with a pink bed near the door, a table attached to the bed,the walls were a arctic blue while the door was wood brown.
At a distance she could see a pure mesmerising image of the moon forming in the pond, the glimmering image of the moon swaying on the cold water calmed her down.
Just then she heard her maa calling'Naya'.
Naya followed the voice to see her maa standing at the door of the room. Naya smiled looking at her mother.
'Its too late beta, don't you have to sleep? You have school tomorrow', her maa said
'Ya maa, just let me windup this' Naya showed her maa the book she was holding
Maya ran her eyes all over the room and saw books scattered all over the table and bed, some open some closed. The table was barely visible beneath the load of books, papers scattered all over the room.
'Actually, i was looking for an important paper' Naya said with a silly smile, looking at her mother's digusted look and picking some papers.
'Now dont start cleaning this mess, I will do it tomorrow, come and sleep'.
'Aye aye sir' Naya teased her maa saluting her.
Maya looked at her daughter with keen eyes,'do you want to say something? '
Naya swallowed a lump in her throat, played with her fingers and looked at her maa
'Do you... Ummm do you miss dad maa? '
The look on Maya's face turned soft, her pain was visible in her eyes'I will be lying if I said no, yes I do miss him, everybody miss a loved one who passed but that never stops the life, life goes on with or without them. The alive has to live on with the pain. We need to find different reasons to live, we need to change our priorities'.
'But maa,how wonderful it would have been with dad here'. Naya moved to the window to look out at the sky
'Is it true that the person who dies turns into a star?'
'Iam not sure,he might or might not turn into a star but one thing Iam sure of is that your father is watching upon you'
'But its hard maa, hard to live'
'I know and am not going to tell you to be strong or forget everything but ya I just wanna tell you that it will get easier, may not be better but will get easier. So dont stress yourself so much, just think your father will never want you to be sad for any reason and live on with that'. Naya nodded
Maya cupped Naya's face in her hand and kissed her on forehead, 'alright now lets get some sleep'
Closing the book, Naya followed her mother, closed the door and came down to the bedroom
'Goodnight maa' Naya slowly lost in her dreamland.

The whole office was dark and dead silent, the only sound was a soft whistle of wind coming from a tiny opening in the window. A wintery chill lingering in the air, the darkness was piercing,it was not merely the darkness that came out of absence of light, it was much more intense.
