Chapter 12

3rd person POV

"Mmm... Rose? That... you?" Haru rubs her eyes as she looked around the room.
"Oh! Did I wake you up? I'm sorry." She says, folding some clothes. Since it hadn't been very long since that incident, her voice sounded a little stale.
"Nah.. you did not wake me up. What's the time anyway?"
"It must be 10:00 am by now."
"Oh I slept in... eh, whatever."

"Don't worry." Rose says as she folds the last T-shirt, places it in the drawer, and closes it. Haru stretches her arms while still lying on the bed and eventually gets up.
The house didn't seem as chaotic as it usually is rather, it was gloomy and dull.

-With Alex and Tiff-

Alex and Tiffany were in-charge of today's breakfast. They decided on scrambled eggs and bacon. Alex gently cracked the eggs as he made sure that there were no egg shells in the way. Tiffany, on the other hand, was preparing the bacon. She laid the bacon neatly on the pan and cooked them in medium heat.

"Does this look good or should I cook it a bit more?" Tiff asks.
"It looks alright to me." Alex replies after he looks at the bacon.
"Alright. Now, which one's the salt?"
"The one on the left, I think. Check it before you put it in though." 

-With Sky, Zufi and Xie-

"Uhh so you wanted to ask us some questions, right?"
"Yes.. uhh..."
"Sky. And she's Zufi." She tilts her head a bit towards Zufi.

"Right. So firstly... was there anything suspicious with the people around? Maybe they were acting wayy too nice? Or perhaps looked scared or surprised in a negative way?" Xie asked, clicking the pen in his hand and opening a pocket-sized notebook.

"Nothing suspicious with them. They did look surprised but I think it's because they haven't had any people visiting their place recently or that's what we'd like to assume." Zufi says as Xie aggressively notes down whatever she said.
"Of course, they were nice and all but it wasn't in a weird or pushy way." Sky adds to it.

"Alright. Did you examine the whole place before you... erm... set up your things?"

"Yes. yes, we did. We checked every corner of the house."
"Even the back yard?"
"Even the back yard."

"Zufi... I know this ain't the time for it but this gives me off movie vibes." Sky whispers into Zufi's ear as Xie proceeds to note down even more of their conversation. It seemed like he already had a set of questions written in there and was filling out it's answers.

"Not the time, Sky." She whispers back.
"I KNOW-"

"Right so what was the time when you saw it?" Xie cuts off Sky's whisper-yelling with yet another question.

"*ahem* That would be around 10:30 in the morning... or maybe 10. We aren't entirely sure but it definitely was after 10 am and before 11 am." Sky replies.

"Okay. And if you will, what was the time of it's disappearance?"
They look at each other as Sky sweat drops. 

"We... again, we aren't sure about the time but it was definitely before, or maybe even after, you arrived." Zufi says.

"... Alright. Can I... like look at the back yard?"
".. Sure. You can." He puts his pen and the little notebook in his pocket and follows Sky and Zufi.

"Is he checking the place?" Alex whispers to Sky to which, she nods.
"Oh, okay."

Zufi opens the door to the back yard and let's Xie outside. He carefully looks around every single corner. He noticed the blood stained grass, foot prints and some blood marks near them. He notices something else... a piece of paper.

What was in it? Was it clues left by them or maybe an accident? Stay tuned to find out :D.
