I hadn't told Joey about this pregnancy yet, I was waiting to see how mine and Alex's relationship was going to pan out, but this morning I woke up to a text from Alex.
A: It's over. I can't be a father, I'm sorry.
Tears filled my eyes, and I drove to Alex's house, grabbed all of my stuff, and packed it in my car. My heart shattered when I saw Finn and Roscoe staring at me, I bent down and petted both of them, "I'll miss you boys, be good," I snapped a pic and then walked out with my last bag.
Tears filled my eyes as I pulled out of the driveway, I searched Zillow for apartments that were available for immediate rent.
I got an apartment, then went to Target to get some food, and necessities, then I headed home.

(Huge time skip here)
Three years since Alex has talked to me, he hasn't even made one attempt to contact me.
Now here I am picking up my three year old daughter from preschool, and surprising her with a trip to see her Uncle Joey at Texas Motor Speedway.
"Mommy!!" Cora exclaimed, running over to me. I picked her up, "Hi princess, how was preschool?" I asked, buckling her into the back of my Chevy Traverse.
"Mommy I farted and blamed it on a boy," she giggled.
"And where'd you learn that from?" I asked.
Cora giggled, "Uncle Joey,"
Remind me to smack him for that.
I pulled into the airport parking lot, "Mommy why are we at the airport?"
"A surprise princess," I smiled.
Once we got settled on the plane, we took off and 2 hours later, landed in Texas.
We got an Uber and headed to the track. "UNCLE JOEY!!!" Cora yelled, jumping into Joey's arms.
She was smiling, and her smile was every bit of Alex.
"Every time I look at her, she looks more like you know who," Joey said, I nodded in agreement.
"Uncle Joey do I get to see Austin today?!" Cora asked.
"I think we can work somethin out," Joey said.
Cora was a huge fan of Austin Cindric.
Later we made it to the pit area, "Mommy I see Austin!!"
This girl was on cloud nine. "Uncle Joey lets go!!"
"I'm comin kiddo," Joey laughed, causing me to laugh.
We got over to Austin, "Hey man what's up?" Austin asked Joey.
"Not much, my niece was eager to meet you," Joey replied.
"Oh my god it's Austin Cindric!" Cora exclaimed. Austin got down to her level, "I hear you're a big fan of mine," He said.
"Mhm!! You cute! Mommy get a picture!" Cora said.
"Good lord this kid's got no filter," Joey laughed. "Nope, just like her uncle," I replied.
"Oh damnnnn," Austin laughed. "Mommy picture!!" Cora begged.
I grabbed my phone as Austin picked up Cora, "Say cheese!"
They smiled for the picture, then Austin grabbed his phone, and a couple minutes later, a girl came over with a bag. "This is for you," He gave the bag to Cora, she opened it, "Oh my god!! Thank you Austin!!" Cora smiled.
Cora pulled out one of the bigger diecasts, and this kid was in awe, "Let me sign it for you," Austin said. He pulled a sharpie out and signed the car for her.
After the meet up with Austin, Cora and I were sitting in Joey's garage area, just chilling. I decided to post the pictures.

"Mommy I see Bowman! Can I go meet him?! Puh-leaseee?!" Cora exclaimed. I looked at Joey, and he gave me the same look back. I took a deep breath, "Yeah, sure why not," I told her.
I walked over to Alex, holding Cora's hand. It helped that Erin had met up with us. I had to brace myself for what was to come.
Cora's eyes went wide when Alex turned around, "Oh my god hi Alex!" She squealed. Alex froze when he realized how much this little girl looked like him, then he looked up at me, "Emma?"
"Hi Alex,"
"Alex knows my mommy?" Cora asked.
Alex nodded, "Mommy is a good friend of mine," he said.
"Oh how?" Cora asked.
"Cora, let's go see William Byron," Erin said.
Erin walked away with Cora. Alex looked at me, "She's so big," Alex said.
"She's three," I replied. "Three?! Dammit I'm such a fucking idiot." Alex sighed. "Fuck, I'm sorry." Tears filled Alex's eyes, causing me to hug him. It had always killed me to see him upset. What he did to me sucked, but fuck it, I have a soft heart.
"What's her name?" Alex asked. "Cora Jane," I replied.
Alex nodded, "Um can I meet her formally?"
"Sure, she deserves to know who her father is," I said.
I just hope it goes good....
