Suspisions

This is what Ruby looks like in her dress but her hair isn't that long!

The five didn't need to find a hotel in the end. The client lent them a room for the night, he said it was the least he could do. The problem was that there was only one room. There were four beds in the room but sharing a room with Sting and Rogue made Ruby's face heat up. She then realised that actually then wouldn't really be sleeping that night anyway. The client was meeting the mysterious man at midnight and they had to be there for that. Until then they had to attend the ball and keep a close watch on the client's daughter in case anything happened to her. Sting and Rogue waited outside the room they had ben given for the night. Sting was lent against the wall one foot up while Rogue was stood beside him with his arms crossed. Lector and Frocsh stood in between the two. The had ten minutes before the party started and the guys where dressed in very smart black and white suits. Just behind the door in front of them Ruby was getting changed into her gown. The guys hadn't seen the dress that she picked in the end but they knew she would look amazing in it.

"This suit is so annoying." Sting moaned.

"We will have to put up with it. This is for a job, we have no choice."

"I was glad to hear that Ruby is buying herself a place to live in."

"Why is that?"

"I was worried that she didn't like the guild and was planning to leave."

"You think Ruby will leave us?" Said Lector becoming slightly panicked.

"Fro will cry if Ruby leaves." Said Fro unhappily.

"I think the thought has crossed her mind yeah but if she is buying a place to live it means she decided to stay."

"As if anyone would let her go, even of she wanted too." The door to their bedroom slowly opened and Sting got up from leaning on the wall. Ruby appeared before the, in the most beautiful red and black dress. The top half clung to her curvy figure and the back of the dress came down to the floor and a red colour. The red opened up at the front like a curtain revealing silky black material in the middle. The four guys stared at the girl in front of them, she looked lovely and her white hair was not in her usual ponytails but down. Her hair came down to the middle of her back and was pinned back at the front with red flower on the left side of her head.

"Wow, Ruby your like a totally different person." Said Sting moving closer to her.

"Come any closer and you'll regret it." Said Ruby.

"Personality is still the same then." Said Rogue with a slight smirk.

"Listen that guy from before, the creepy son. We need to keep an eye on him, I have a gut feeling that he has more to do with this than he is letting on."

"The guy sure was creepy." Said Lector.

"Fro thinks so too."

"The clients daughter, the one that was threatened has a twin brother. He is apparently very smart despite his young age. The older son doesn't seem fit to run the company."

"What's that got to do with anything?" Asked Sting.

"Think about it. What if the older son is being over looked and his smart brother is the next in line to take over his company? Don't you think that would cause a lot of jealousy from the older son?"

"That would make sense." Said Rogue.

"We don't know that is the case, it is just a thought, but the client seems to care about this company because it was his brothers. I imagine that he will do what is best for the survival of the company despite the feelings of his own children."

"But what about the creepy guy that claimed to be the dead brothers son?" Asked Sting.

"Could very easily be made up. A decoy to take the suspicion off himself. The creepy man might be the face of the thieves but the mind behind it might very well be the older son."

"Ruby's a genius." Said Lector.

"Fro thinks so too."

"Thanks guys." Said Ruby.

"The party starts in a few minutes, we should do down to the main hall." Said Rogue.

"Here's the plan. We will act casual and like guests, whilst keeping and eye on the clients daughter. I will do my best to get any information out if the older son to try and confirm my suspicions."

"Does that mean your really going to dance with that creep?" Said Sting as jealousy built up inside of him.

"It's not like I want to but the clients daughter is in danger and it is our job to protect her and stop all the thieves." Sting clenched both of his fists.

"If that creep tries anything I'll make him bleed."

"Sting I appreciate the thought but he won't try anything and even if he does I can protect myself. I don't need either of you to come to my aid, you will only get in the way. At least you guys can actually move freely, how the hell am I supposed to fight in this dress."

"If you can't fight as well as you usually do then you might have to rely on us this time." Said Rogue. Ruby blushed a little.

"I guess so." Sting smiled at her.

"The three of us working together, these guys aren't gonna know what hit them."
